You don't happen to know where the ID card issue place in at Ft Ben? I have never been there myself so don't have a clue what it is called. Thanks
    Dick

South (main) entrance to Finance Center. Just inside, look left to office door. It is a pretty good operation - in and out in just a few minutes if you have everything in order.

Also, the property tax issue takes forever at the auditor's office. Mine took a year before it showed up on my tax record.

    Department of Veterans Affairs

WASHINGTON – The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is warning Veterans not to give credit card numbers over the phone to callers claiming to update VA prescription information.
"America’s Veterans have become targets in an inexcusable scam that dishonors their service and misrepresents the Department built for them," said Dr. Gerald Cross, VA’s Under Secretary for Health. "VA simply does not call Veterans and ask them to disclose personal financial information over the phone."
Veteran Service Organizations have brought to VA's attention that callers are misrepresenting the VA to gain personal information over the phone. They say VA recently changed procedures for dispensing prescriptions and ask for the Veteran's credit card number.
"VA has not changed its processes for dispensing prescription medicines," Cross said. "Nor has VA changed its long-standing commitment to protect the personal information of this nation’s Veterans."
Veterans with questions about VA services should contact the nearest VA medical center or call, toll-free, 1-877-222-8387.

    Thanks

Should be able to take your disability discharge papers to the ID card section at FT. Ben and get it a ID card there.

I got my card yesterday and today my wife is going back with me to get hers. I know they are good for the comm and px but I hear they are used in other places but not sure where and for what. Any leads where to find out would be apperciated.

    Thanks

I don't have a ready answer for you, but I'll do some diggin'. A good start might be the folks that issued you the card/s. They've probably got some literature that whould shed more light on things for you.

This is a great thread. Lots of info. I am 10% disabled, been out 7 years today. My wife has been out 6 years today and has been fighting with the VA for a long time to get an appointment for various ailments that are Service related.

I was told by the guys at the ID office to go Benefiting the US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard - Military.com as they have some great information for anything service related. Found my answers in less than a half hour.

Went to a meeting Wednesday that Steve Buyers' office put on concerning Medicare, lots of confusing information from several reps that was there but informative none the less. When two and a half hours were passed, the one lady from Steves' office asked if there was any more questions, little old me raised my hand. Asked very pointedly about the delays in any announcement about the scheduled opening of our local CBOC, and you would have thought I asked for the Messiahs' birth certificate! She said that was not in here area of responsibility but she should definitely ask the person who handles that aspect to get back with me. Lordy I like to rock the boat.

So Applebees will NOT accept a copy of your DD214 huh? How strange!
I think the only picture I have of me in uniform is my boot camp book. I wonder if they could recognize me in a 32 year old picture?!

If they don't accept your DD-214, try your VA identification card. If that won't work, holler and I'll buy your dinner. :patriot:
