So, INGO, what do you think?

I'm looking for a new carry rig for my Glock 19. I have been carrying in an open leather IWB, but have been considering kydex or similar.

I've seen the Crossbreed, and the Raven Concealment products, but I'm not sold on a plastic holter...I do like how low-profile those holsters are. I like low-visibility. I'm not opposed to OWB...

What are your thoughts, INGO? How are you carrying your G19...dominant hand, "3 O'Clock"?

Have you experienced any wear from the kydex? Noise? Worse than leather?

I like an IWB kydex holser, except when I'm wearing a tucked-in shirt. Then I like an Aliengear or Flashbang (Crossbreed style) holster, which is the most comfortable.

The kydex is nice because I can remove the firearm/holster easily and put it in the safe without ever taking the gun out of the holster. I can do that with the other style, but it isn't nearly as quick and easy.

I have a nice one that hpclayto made for me. It's very comfortable, wasn't very expensive. Right handed, 4 o'clock position, 15 degree cant IWB, holes for both the clip & soft loops.

It's not being used right now. If you are interested in checking it out before you drop coin let me know.

I carry my G19 at 2:30 owb in a Raven Concealment. I'm in and out of my vehicle so much that iwb/appendix or 6:00 won't work.
I have very little holster wear and have been very happy with the holster. NO moisture issues either.
Holster to gun fit is perfect. NO movement or kydex rattle.
It fits me well. Ymmv of course depending on build.
NO noise between holster and leather. Extremely made holster.

3:00 for the gun and 9:00 for mags balances things well and make fairly good hip armour. :) Less restrictive while sitting and against walls also.

Raven, Henry, hpclayto, Bravo and similar work well for me. Dunno about the others, but Raven has replaced a lot of broken holsters for me. Training and life otherwise can get rough on them.

I really like the modular styles that allow you to switch from IWB to OWB and vice versa. The cant and height can be adjusted also.

For IWB, I lean heavily on the G-Code INCOG w spare mag holder @ 3 & another spare mag (and BUG) @ 9 or the Comp-Tac Infidel w the main clip and the C-Tac Strut as a 2nd point of attachment. Both of these brands have done right by me for IWB carry.

OWB, I've gone to either a custom kydex I got used (no real retention) or a Safariland ALS (level 2) as my typical holsters.

Keep in mind, I almost always have a cover garment and do not open carry.

I've carried IWB for years. Milt Sparks Summer Special was the most comfortable but it was leather.
I tried to like my Bladetech but don't like the fact you have to un-snap and snap it every time.
Have been using a Clinger Holster "Atom" for a couple of months for my G42. It is very comfortable, price point was great and conceals fantastically. The fact that you can adjust the depth of the holster into the pants helps a bunch in comfort and concealability.
I have another on order for my G19 and believe it will be just as solid as the one for the G42 so I'll let you know.

For OWB carry (90% of the time ) I use a Galco Combat Master at the 3-4 o' clock position with a Blackhawk double mag carrier on the opposite side.
For the rare time I carry IWB it's a Crossbreed Supertuck.

Crossbreed super tuck has been great for me. The retention was a bit questionable when I received it though. 15 seconds on hot with the wife's hair dryer and I was able to correct it. Locks up great now. I wear it around 4:00.

Guys, thank you so much for all the advice.

I'm not sure I'm in any better shape now...I'm going to have to buy like seven holsters!!!

I still like the Raven. I like the way they stand behind their products.

The "tuckable" holsters...they look like a pain in the butt. Do they REALLY "tuck" away convincingly? Can you still access the weapon quickly? I'm not 100% convinced.

The Milt Sparks Summer rig is the closest to what I already carry, but mine is a Galco. The Milt Sparks product has an "unfinished" or "rawhide" look to it, which I like. My Galco is tanned and finished steerhide, and I find it moved around quite a bit, even when I wear a quality gunbelt...this is why I am looking for a new rig.

I do like IWB...BUT, I tend to dress in such a way that I COULD cover a tightly-holstered OWB pistol with an outer garment rather easily. I usually wear an untucked polo or dickies work shirt over a tee shirt.

I need to look into appendix carry. I have never trained for appendix draw. I have always trained for a 3-4 o'clock draw, right hand. It doesn't get in the way moving in and around vehicles?

I drive a lifted Jeep Wrangler, and I have no problem getting in and out of it while carrying AIWB. In fact, it's much more comfortable while driving a vehicle.

Drawing is faster. Easier to conceal.

    The holsters that I like, and I carry a G19 or a G26, are:

    Phlster Access
    Dale Fricke Archangel
I have tried Raven Concealment's, but didn't like it.
Also, I have a Henry Holster AIWB holster for my G43, and like it.

Edit: Raven's tuck able straps work great. I have a set on my 3:00 holster. And actually, the Phylster Access holster uses Raven's tuck able straps.

I carried my Clinger to a wedding and reception with my shirt tucked and nobody noticed. Had never really tried it until then but it's nice having the option.
AIWB doesn't work for me as my build just shoves it into my groin when I sit.
The Milt Sparks doesn't move because of the rough out design. I remember chasing a De Santis around between the loops due to the smooth exterior:xmad:
