I was using lucas gun oil(the red stuff), I bought it at pep boys, they also sell it at rural king, and I use lucas extreme gun grease(we sell it at the shop I work at) but a friend gave me a bottle of lucas extreme oil (the blue green stuff) and its now my oil of choice!

they aren't cheap, the grease is 17.00 a tube (1 oz I think) and the extreme oil should be about 18.00 for a 8 oz bottle but as slick as that stuff is, both should last a long time!

op since you live in eville, if you are interested on the grease pm me, and i'll tell you where I work if you want the lucas grease (we aren't a site supporter so I don't want to give out the shop name)

Not that this one is a lubricant, but I wanted to put in a very strong recommendation for Birchwood Casey's Barricade.
I've been using this product since the 1980s, when it was called Sheath.
It's molybdenum disulfide in a spray can that serves as an excellent rust preventative.
I have yet to find anything that measures up to its effectiveness.

I use any available oil. Sewing machine oil on triggers but you need to remove the excess.Grease picks up too much dirt.

Lithium grease, like the kind used for joints in your vehicle. You can find this just about anywhere. Good for a wide temperature range and stays where you put it. Don't spend extra on "special" grease.

I'm kinda a lube/cleaning product queer (sorry if I offended anyone). I bought a bottle of the Permatex some of you have mentioned. This stuff stays where you put it!!

Looking forward to testing this stuff at a shooting event.

I recently switched from Mil-comm to Weapon Shield. I am really impressed so far. It seams to perform as well or better, and is considerably cheaper than most other gun lubes. I believe it is lithium based because after blowing off the gun with some brake leaner there is usually some white tell tale residue.

I saw the title to this thread and thought we would be having an adult conversation....I am so disappointed. :stickpoke:

Anyway, for guns, I am a Weapon Shield fan myself. Lube works great and it seems to me that carbon deposits come off much easier when using it.

To be honest I thought that this thread would take a turn for the worse given this crowd! ;-)

I was going to suggest gun oil. I googled that one time when looking for some small storage bottles for my range bag. Let's just say I didn't know but now I do.
