Getting gas in the company vehicle.

Guy with his lady pull up next to me to pump gas.

He gets out, removes the gas cap and just stares at me while I'm getting gas. He says something to her. She turns around in the car and looks at me. He never took the nozzle off the pump. He walks back to the car, looks at me again and drives off with the gas cap on the top of the pump.

She looks at me intently while the car drives away...

    What did I do?

Reminds me of being in a gas station right after a range trip. It was hot and I was sweaty and was evidently imprinting. I reach in to the cooler to grab a pop and a gal about 6ft over yells "OMG, he's got a gun"! There was a cop not to far away from us. He says " you got a LTCH?. I say yep. He tells the gal to stop yelling and that I wasn't going anything wrong. She kept *****ing the whole time I was in there anyway. The cop and I walk out the door at the same time. I said sorry I cause a hassle. I purposely CC so I don't draw attention. He said you are fine, some people just don't get it. We talked about guns and target shooting for about 5 minutes. He never asked me to see my LTCH. He was cool to talk to. He was someone that clearly "got it".

    :yesway:

He probably figured you weren't acting like you were going to rob the place or shoot people, so it didn't matter.

Similar interaction one afternoon; I'm at a speedway getting a soft drink when a couple of deputies walk up to the machine next to me. Nobody ever takes their attention from their pouring drinks when I hear one of the deputies say: "I'm guesing you have a license to carry that don't you"? I respond; yup. That was it, we pay for our drinks on go on our merry ways. I cover but typically print horribly!:ugh:

I had a similar screeching harpy 1911. I was dressed professionally and OCing my 1911. I've had clerks tell me "be safe out there" so I think some would mistake me for a cop.

At a gas station as I was getting in my car near the front doors, an older lady with her mid 20s daughters said loudly in a passive aggressive tone to them "THAT is why I left Kentucky. Guns. Everybody down there carries" I politely tried to point out it was legal and there was nothing to fear but she wasnt having it. Would have been hilarious if I actually WAS a cop.
