I may be in the market for a shield. Would I want to look into the 2.0? I haven't shot a shield before, so I wouldn't notice the changes. I just want to get the best bang for the buck.

Anybody around Indy stocking holsters for it yet? I contacted Patriot Concealment but they're out of action right now.

I have had trouble finding holsters online for my 2.0 9c . Part of the issue seems to be the complication in searching for "M&P 9c M2.0" with my googlefu. Only place I have found is TR Holsters, but I hate the clips they use.

Most holsters from the 4.25 inch model, etc should work, at least that is what I ordered when I got my hybrid IWB, as the muzzle of the gun is not completely covered in that model of holster anyway.

I've found a lot of companies are cataloging it now but was looking for some good kydex to just go and pick up.

I just picked up a full size 9 2.0 with the 4.25 barrel. Holy crap, it feels good in my hand as well. Can't wait to go shoot it.

I just couldn't pass up the deal I got, especially after shooting my brothers 9c 2.0 I mentioned up thread.

Can't say enough how Great this gun is. Easy shooter, strong ejection.
Took it to the range today and have to say the trigger is a lot better than the old M&P.

I'm very interested on buying a 2.0 compact but have come across some forums posts (other forums) about texture been too rough for IWB carry, please let us know about what you think.

I am concerned about this as well, but for the FS version. I had a set of sights that were so sharp they cut holes in my shirt. I had to file them down.

Handled a few at the last 1500 and would have bought one but the grips were really grippy. Hate the idea of having to sand down something that is brand new.

So far, it is not too bad as far as abrasiveness. I tend to push the gun back to about 5:30 almost Small of the Back when carrying in my hybrid IWB (which has a combat cut, so a non combat cut IWB would protect more) and while I notice the gun back there (I've been carrying a Glock 43 most recently so I'm going to notice anything at this point), it's not tearing me up. This is just from casual wear, and not doing a lot of physical work with it on like I may do under certain circumstances and no extended car rides (I've been known to carry my Glocks in this position while driving straight through to FL). I may remove the grip insert and hit it a bit with some sandpaper and see if that helps even more, but it is not a big issue so far.

If anything I notice the base of the removable takedown pin more than anything in the position I carry.

That said, if you had the gun riding directly on a love handle IWB, it might be an issue. I don't carry in that position so it is not a problem so far.

Before I sanded all mine (lightly) when sitting I would tuck my T-shirt between the grip and my skin and then untuck before standing. Of course this won't work if your shirt is tucked in.

Yeah, I think if I just knock the edges off the insert it will help. That way it is not permanent and I can always replace the insert.

Once I have more time with it in the holster I'll know if it is really a problem.

I just picked one up last week and am impressed with it for what it is. After installing some Trijicon Hd's it is much better. Impressed with the changes they did on the 2.0 as I did not like the stock trigger in the Gen 1 M&P's.

I held a M&P Compact the other day. I liked it a lot. I thought the grip texture was a little much, but I very much wanted to shoot it.

I hate to admit it, but I’d like to own one.

Grab a Gun has had them for as low as $399 in recent days (in their email specials)... just a thought.

What's the allure of the new compact over a Glock 19? M&P love in general or what?

On my side, I seem to shoot the M&P a bit better. I'm assuming the ergonomics of the M&P are playing into that for me. I've shot and carried Glocks (including 19's for many years), but when I picked up the M&P, I just seemed to shoot it a bit better. That said, it was on steel plates and not shooting for groups on paper, but seemed to be scoring more hits, etc. I don't think it was necessarily substantially different.

I was going to pick up a Gen 5 (have some Gen 4's, a Gen 3, a couple of 43's, etc), but decided to give the nod to the M&P Compact 2.0.

I'd just encourage folks to try both and pick what works for them.

For someone purchasing a new one that has not been ingrained into the Glock platform , price point is also a consideration.
