I work on computers on the side. Used to have a computer company creating and maintaining small business servers with my wife and brother until 2009. The economy took a down turn and when people stopped paying bills, we couldn't keep up. Still have a few old clients I take care of and do other repair work for my gun fund. Mostly virus and spyware removal or data recovery, I have a bench system I will take someone's hard drive out of their system and bring it up to scan and clean in my system. That way it does not boot up and let the crap have a chance to protect itself.

Also sell the occasional laptop, just sold an older military style Panasonic Toughbook on here that I rebuilt, I occasionally come across older laptops that need parts that I will rebuild and reload, then sell on the cheap. Paid for my Lasik a few years ago with money saved from the side jobs, bought more than one addition to the safe over time as well.

In know most of this is tongue-in-cheek but for me, I have zero time right now for side work. All I do is work at my job and work on my home reno. Maybe once the renovations are completed I'll think about some kind of side gig.

Though if I pick up a few "extra" hours where I am not doing either of the two above I might want to do something recreationally. Like maybe, shoot?

I voluntarily serve as a co property manager for a church, and I drag race with the family. I also work as a family handyman and fleet mechanic for the family fleet. Come to think of it these are really kinda crappy side hustles...I'm doing a bunch of work for free and the racing costs me money. If I wasn't having so much fun I would seriously need to re-evaluate all this

Trying to get a couple side business off the ground.

Chunk N dales. Just like the Chip N dales but average more realistic guys dancing.

Then a 1-900 talk dirty number for women.

Where you tell them how manly your beard is and love cleaning the house and taking care of kids while she goes out.

I've been trying to get into listening to podcasts lately. Normally I listen to music 24/7, but figured between calls at work I could learn a thing or two occasionally instead. The Art of Manliness is probably the best one I've heard so far (although Behind the Blade is right up there) and I listened to this one the other night...

I have several side gigs that I do outside of work that I try to get to pay for themselves and then some. Both of them I'd like to make full time when I retire (I'm really done with working for someone else).

So, I am mostly curious if you all have a side hustle or two and what is it?

Ivy Tech instructor, online. Used to be in the classroom until I got Obamacared, then had to get a real job. Online classes are a decent part time thing.

    Outside the coup
I did try Uber for a while, but it was a joke in my county. Selling the extra eggs and some other things from the garden in the summer. Been doing Amazon Mturk for several years. Finally got to the point where I can make about $120 a day if I really try. The occasional computer build or repair.

I'd really like to learn something useful that I can do online from home. Not much in Randolph county as far as extra income. I've been in factories most of my life since I got out of the military back in the 90's. Really don't want to go back again, but being 47 around here doesn't leave much at all. Going to try and learn some scripting soon so I can improve my Mturk productivity.

I have a shop that allows me to do many things. Like the OP I built it up along the way and now in semi-retirement it is paying dividends. I mainly build hi-po engines for cars/bikes. I do some fab work when it comes along. I have 3 in the process right now and just set one in the frame of a resto-Mod projects.

We do HVAC work as well.

This is the Hot-Rod Olds we just finished and set in the frame.

    I've turned down side work.
Seems to be anytime someone needs something fixed or replaced is when I am working long hours and hardly leaves me any home time as it is.
Yeah the money would be nice but I need my time at home too.

I have considered Uber for the rare days I am home and the fiance is at work.

Rebuild transmissions/transfer cases on the side, but only if they are pulled out of the car for me. Pulling them out is the part i hate in my full time job, but being im the only tech where i work i have to do it all. I enjoy rebuilding them though

Use referral code UA219 if you decide to sign up for uber, will get us both a little something extra.
