The truck looks good, but that $6000.00 option on top of the already inflated truck price is just too much.I too do not make payments.Been going to Nashville TN. for the last 25 years, and have always found a clean rust free cared for 15- 20 vehicle with highway miles (seems everybody down there drives 100 miles to work one way).I can usually drive em 2-4 years before the rust starts and recoup most of my money. It works for me.

What did you not like about it?

    Same question...???

    Curious.

First was the power. That 2016 Duramax was a complete dog compared to any of my Fords. Even my older 6.0L F350 would run circles around that GMC.

Second was the interior, to me it was cheep. I did not like the way the dash was laid out and I found the seats uncomfortable on long trips.

I would probably buy an decent 80's F150 and drop the new diesel in it. I'm telling people now if you want a classic that doesn't break the bank start buying 70's to mid 80's pickups as most have had a rebuilt and bodywork for under 10K.

What I wouldn’t give to have my 68 C10 back! I paid $300 for that truck in 81, still had a shine to the factory paint and ran like a scalded cat!

That is odd, you didn't mind the dash lay out when you bought it? You didn't mind the "lack of power" when you test drove it?

The LML runs right beside the 6.7 Powerstroke.

It's cool though, we all like different things and trucks, my next one will be a Super Duty mostly because it can be ordered the way I want it.

We never bought it, we leased it with the option to buy. I own a RV dealership and for a period of time a couple years ago we needed a spare truck and leased the GMC. I never looked at it, never test drove it. I called the leasing company we use, told them what I needed and they told me they had this brand new GMC. I never thought there would be issues with it so I told them we would take it, I picked it up a couple hours later. We disliked it so much we turned it back in after a month.

I have zero loyalty to any brand, I use what gets the job done best for my company. So when I need a heavy duty truck with a enough power to pull a 14000lb 5th wheel toy hauler the Fords seem to do the job much better than the GM's or Rams.

I wouldn't get rid of that 7.3. That was the last good diesel Ford made. The 6.7's of the last couple of years aren't too bad, but any of the new diesels have so much crap attached to them, it almost defeats the purpose.

Agreed, the 7.3 is just a champ. Had a 99 that I bought with 250k on the clock and put another 200k on it.
Have a 2003 f250 with just under 200k on it and it's just flawless.
Was well worth flying out to Arizona to buy it and drive it home.

    Like!

Too bad pickups require winning a lottery to own now!

    You're not kidding.

My in-laws bought a 2017 silverado 2500 crew cab last spring. Gorgeous truck. BUT - the one they bought has a bench seat up front. It sat on a dealer lot for MONTHS. They got a "smoking" deal on it - but still paid in the 'hood of $45k.

If we ever win the lottery (any day now!), my wife wants a Silverado/Sierra 1500 Crew Cab. I really like the Dodge 2500 Power Wagons these days. I'd probably buy one even though Dodge generally sucks. But I'd have lottery money - so it really wouldn't be a big deal.

With a 14 month old baby, and another on the way, my Jeep Wrangler is going to be very tight. I tell my wife everyday that I need a newer crew cab Silverado.

She’s not on board with it. Yet. I’m still slowly chipping away :)

It is crazy how expensive these trucks are. I don’t want another payment, but man these trucks are nice though ;)

If I win the lottery, I'm going straight to the Suburban.

You'd also owe it to yourself to cross-shop the Yukon XL, the new Expedition, and the new Navigator.

If *I* win the lottery (any day now!), I'll also seriously consider the Toyota Land Cruiser, Range Rover, the offerings from GM, Porsche Cayenne, and, most obviously, the new Mercedes Gelandewagen. The 2019 GWagen is supposed to be much better than the outgoing versions. I may just get one of each.

I'm not a big Chevy fan, but I like retro stuff. This is kinda cool, for those who liked the old 1970's Cheyenne pickups:

Break out the bell bottoms because a Chevrolet dealer resurrected the 1970s Cheyenne Super 10 | Fox News

I find this to be nothing less than epic! Fresh out of college, I worked at a dealership where our inventory was about 85% GM trucks including many, many square bodies. I love those things.

This is a very nice homage.

...and yeah, trucks are expensive. I buy mine 1 to 3 years old. When I bought my Silverado (years ago), it was 3 years old with about 30,000 miles. It cost about $18,000 with an equivalent new one going for over $35,000.

Even if I won the lottery, I'd still shop used.

Yeah, if you win a serious lottery jackpot, it's not an either/or choice. It's a yes or no.
