I'm reading domestic Enemies by Matthew bracken. 2nd book in the series. There pretty good. Gov bans semi autos and all the trouble that happens after. Best series fiction I've read is Malazane book of the Fallon. Talk about epic. One second after series is also a life changer.

Think I'm going to finish 12 simple rules for success by Jordan peterson or the reaper by nicholas erving. Recently I've picked out a few books from the local good will.

    Could be anywhere
Currently reading "Zemke's Wolf Pack" pretty good read so far, just finished Empey's "First Call" where he related to America how to do the trench warfare things...good thing Pershing ignored him and went for open warfare. Before that "The Panama Canal" a good 1913 copy on the building of the canal liberally sprinkled with pictures.

On my last flight I was reading "Barbary Station" which I could not recommend. The science is so weak that I'd have to classify it as space based fiction not science fiction. Also, the continual references to both names and physical characteristics of the characters show that either the author is too lazy to not cut and paste or thinks her readers are so dense that they can't keep the characters straight. It got annoyingly repetitive...almost like the old Gor series where they would cut and paste whole pages of descriptions whenever a city/race/whatever was mentioned again.

I finished "1493" and found it a fascinating read that was well worth the time invested. I've restarted "Wolf Hall", which I'd started awhile back and gotten 1/4 through but had to set aside for some required reading and then forgot about. I just started it over, as there are so many characters and moving parts I didn't think I'd do well starting it part way through after several months away from it.

    "A Higher Loyalty"
    -James Comey :wavey:

How is it? I'd put it on my 'wish list' but will wait for a used copy.

Just finished "Musashi" which I liked less than "Shogun" and much less than "Book of the Five Rings." Overall some interesting story overall but not my favorite.

Currently reading "Peak" by Anders Ericsson It has been good. As with most of these books it is repetitive.

I'm on the 5th book of the "The Colin McCool Paranormal Suspense Series", Druid Justice. The series is pretty good if you are into Urban fantasy (Jim Butcher's Dresden Files, Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid, Mercedes Lackey's Serrated Edge Series). The Colin McCool series is really good. I've blown through all 5 books in three weeks.

Not sure what is next on my list. I have a a few dozen books in my backlog. Maybe the Jane Yellowrock series..

I'm taking a break from the Song of Ice and Fire series and reading The Midnight Line by Lee Child (Jack Reacher #whatever).

I'm also contemplating reading The Book of Mormon.

    Voluntary, or "involuntarily"?
(due to George RR Martin dragging his feet)

I read that and Theodore Rex when they were first out. Teddy was an interesting fellow with a wide variety of experiences. I find it funny that a future POTUS was, at one point, poking sandwiches to make sure they were fresh in order to enforce the "one beer, one sandwich" law.
