what branch of the media did you work with?
That’s not really an equivalence. But if you’re saying that one doesn’t need to be a part of a group to have a valid criticism of it, I would agree with that. If it’s right for w person who’s never been in the military to criticize a politician with a ‘D’ in front of his name for dodging the draft, is a politician with an ‘R’ exempted from the same criticism?

It’s a complicated issue. I wish EVERYONE could have dodged that draft. It was a bull**** war fought by bull**** politicians by proxy of the blood of Amaricans, for bull**** reasons. But I have to call out the character of men who used their privilege to dodge it when so many others had to do their jobs. It does not require military service to have the moral authority to say that.

Everyone say it with me, because it’s true. And we’re all capable of saying what’s true. Because we’re all intellectually honest. “Trump is a draft dodging **********.”

Everyone say it with me, “fake social justice ********ing democrats leave me no choice but to vote for a draft dodging **********.”

Thank you for being honest. You’re all healed.

Well, at least we concur at something.
Or not. It’s possible to have a sincere belief and be wrong. But the answer to that is unknown to the rest of the community. So whose word should we take? The person who accuses someone of lying without providing proof that they lied? Or the person who made the statement without providing the facts?

Hint: your case is harder to prove.

I think most people knew that before he was elected; nobody seemed care then... even less so now.

Yes. I knew. I still know. It’s inaccurate to say I don’t care.

I care. Not much choice. Gotta turn this ***** around before we fly off the left cliff. I had to vote for a lying, cheating, draft-dodging ********** because the only alternative “America” could come up with was a lying, cheating, feminazi, criminal ****-licker. And the one waiting in the wings was a fruitcake Marxist light **********.

I think a lot of people who voted for Trump think that way.

Damnit I can not rep you again.

This is the absolute in all of this. The powers that actually run the show are......wait for it.....running the show.
Why would anyone in their right mind want to step into that 3 ring media circus. Our man Mitch chose to avoid it to maintain his family privacy.

Thoughts appreciated. It’s a good point. Decent people are effectively excluded from running. So it’s up to the people willing to be trashed by the media and by other politicians. I’d wager the pool of good people willing to do that is much smaller than the pool of bad people.

The lure of absolute power and opportunity's is just to much for some ****bags to resist. Both the Clintons are in crap health. Why subject yourself to the pressures of that office. Power. Greed. Being a complete narcissist. They are more than well off. Just makes no sense.
Bernie and his wife are carnival con-artists. It is so obvious yet they get the drones to fall in lock step with his promises of Free ****. There is no such thing as free ****.

If only that could happen. But we have this two-party system which necessarily creates two opposing factions. Two teams that hate each other and will say and do whatever is necessary to keep the other from power. What reluctant person would want to put themselves out there to be lied about by the other?

    So -
They won, announced they were all going to celebrate at the White House, which means that the Secret Service did full back ground checks on ALL of them.
Then they decided to snub Trump and not go, except for 2 players, the coach and the mascot. :n00b:

Thing is, it is a lifetime experience to visit the White House, let alone be INVITED to the White House. Now they have no pictures or videos or memorabilia or signatures or stolen WH ashtrays and towels, etc...
They got nothing. Nothing but an embarrassing black mark in the history books that will always follow their Super Bowl win.
Soon the Eagles will be known more for not showing up to their own party than for winning a super bowl.

Ya boy. They showed him. :rockwoot:

And the next circus is already in the planning stages.

I predict that as long as this president is in office, you'll see very few teams (pro or college) go to the WH. It's not meaningful experience to visit the WH, if you don't respect the occupant. I personally would decline any opportunity to meet this president, and that's a first.

You just can't help yourself, can you? :lmfao:

If you don't go then you don't get to shake the hand of one of the greatest Presidents to ever live........ and no ashtray for you.

Infidelity, twitter, treatment of women, calling other players SOBs, DACA, "Good people on Both sides," Mexican (actually American) judge treats him unfairly, Puerto Rico response, belief he's a racist, Russian associations, repeatedly lying to the public, Joe Arpaio, his unhealthy attraction to his daughter...

Take your pick. I wouldn't go either, and I stand during the national anthem.
You talking about the NFL players, or Trump?

I don't get the cult of celebrity. I'd not step out on my back porch to meet NFL players or any recent POTUS and could give two poos less if they meet each other. They are just people.

So this brings up a question, would you go out of your way to meet anyone famous just because they are famous?

Not unless I held them in respect for what they did or do. There is an NFL player that is always on the front lines when there is a tragedy. He donates his time and money so often. And his name escapes me right now dang it. Big blond hard hitting pile driver but a decent human being off the field. Plays for the Texans now I believe. Hell yes I want to meet him. Shake his hand and buy him lunch and a beer.

JJ Watt........thats him. Now him I want to meet.
