    In the country, hopefully.
Last night our Beagle started barking. It wasn’t his normal Beagle howl like he does when barking at deer, it was a much deeper bark. I got my flashlight and through the bedroom window there was a pretty large coyote about 70 yards away slowly walking through the yard. A few seconds after my light came on it took off. I now keep a rifle upstairs instead of all in the basement!
If you use a red light they're a lot less likely to run off, a white light, especially suddenly cast on them will almost always make them bolt.

We set up cameras at my cousin's house Tuesday. Checked yesterday and there seems to be a fair amount of activity. It is supposed to rain tonight so tomorrow night will be the first hunt there.

    Old male. Came into rabbit.

We saw six last night, but he was the only one that came into range and he came in at a sprint.

I live in an urban/rural area so even though technically legal shooting a rifle is a little dicey. There is a 5 acre field behind our house where the occasional coyote will be seen mousing. I looked out my kitchen window last Wednesday and noticed a brown lump that seemed out of place. Closer inspection revealed a coyote feeding on something. I gave him every chance considering I had to get a rifle out of the safe, find the bolt (I don’t keep rifles and bolts in the same place), look for a round of ammo, and then get set up on my back porch. Results one dead coyote.

I’ve kind of always wanted to have a nice coyote mount done but the cost is prohibitive. Plus, many taxidermists seem pretty reluctant to even do a coyote. I’ve never skinned a coyote but I hear they have a gawd awful smell to ‘em. I actually took a coyote to a taxidermist once and had the hide tanned. Then learned I could have bought a hide already tanned than having my own done !

+1 So we're at 90 now? Called in 3 at one spot but they were moving too fast and didn't get a shot. Called in a solo at another spot and he got a hollow point tracheotomy.

About what times are you guys rolling out? The moon is full and wind is low tonight. My Son is after me to go out...

    Almost perfect conditions here tonight.

    Any time...

We usually head out between 8-11

Yeah, any time you can get out is a good time. Waiting on my son to show up then we're heading back out.

Must have posted at the same time so we're at 91. After my son got here we went back out, called in 1 and he missed it, moved to a different spot called in a pair and he missed again. Checked his scope the next day,and it was way, way, off.
He had checked his zero a couple of weeks ago and it was good, thinks someone (his lib mother?) might have messed with it.
