    In the country, hopefully.
Lord have mercy Amboy49 that is beautiful. Now that I'm less surly than I was on my previous post I see your concerns. This is an investment and puts things in a very different light. If you had a GT500KR Shelby that was hauled off in a raid, that is an investment that you not have for the foreseeable future. If it comes back with a dent in the quarter-panel and the original grill missing your investment has lost value.

While the 2A aspects of HB 1651 get a lot of attention here at INGO, the 4A and 5A parts are just as vital. Thank you for bringing this up. Now to work on getting this in my crib sheet for Wednesday.
This is a good attitude/outlook to go into it with. The people pushing for this need to be made to realize the gravity of what they are asking for, in this example true and real depreciation. I didn't notice after reading your 0143 post, but the contrast that shows up after reading the second post is interesting; the first one is so often the attitude we take (NOT criticizing you!) in respect to the idea of compromise, how we let them write the rules and we think we have to play in the confines of those rules, the second attitude is one of making them understand what they are asking for and what it should cost them. Or that it's just wrong altogether.
    Thanks for your hard work.

Thanks for the feedback DM. I should refrain from posting in this thread after a certain hour. I didn't see Amboy's pics last night (way early this morning actually), if I had the light bulb would've came on even at 0-dark early.

In the tradition of CM, Amboy49 has a cheeseburger coming should we ever meet.

On the way home yesterday, I was listening to WIBC. I think the show is Kim Kardashian. A sheriff from Indiana called in and shared a story about the red flag law. He doesn't agree with it.
His story, someone called in on a gun owner and said he was a danger. Could have been a disgruntled ex or any Democrat, take your pick. He had to confiscate all his guns. After due process, it was determined he was not a danger. He could have all his guns returned. There's a $100 a day storage fee, so he couldn't afford to 'buy' them back. So this innocent guy had all his guns 'stolen' from him by the government because someone was uncomfortable with him owning them.

    I call :BS:

In Indiana, you can't just confiscate guns because someone phoned in a tip out of the blue.

I'd bet you the cold drink of your choice that he'd sign it, if it came across his desk. This seems to be the answer to the call to "just do something" about mentally troubled people and their access to guns. Republicans are enamored with this just as much as the gun grabbers.

You say "republicans" and "gun grabbers" as if they aren't the same thing at all.

The "just do something" mentality is the most dangerous of all. It underpins The Hohn Rule: every law named after a person is a likely a deeply problematic kneejerk overreaction by Statist types.

I see what you did there.

If a person is able to exercise the reason and self-control necessary to not talk about their guns incessantly and, y'know, not make threats....chances are they'll never encounter a "red flag" law.

    ...but.....

Does posting on INGO count as incessant? :):

I'm on my cell phone, with limited data plan, so researching and posting is a pain.
But Guy Relford just won a case to get someone their 50 guns back.

He talked about that on his radio show Saturday. This is been going on since 2012.

...and an article about his failed 2013 appeal:

Do read that second article. This isn't just some guy that was in the wrong place at the wrong time, it does clearly sound like there were some screws loose. Plus, the cops didn't start seizing guns till after a psych evaluation.

Nevertheless, a good win for Guy Relford.

He was looking in a bar and said he could see spirits. What is odd about that? Every bar I was ever in had bottles of spirits prominently displayed.
