Thank you Haweye, but me running for office? (checks weather app, current temperature in Hell is...) Nope!!

Just like they do to every non Libprogocrat you would be subject to the political/media rectal exam of your life.

Didn't you recently say that I should run.

Provides that an individual may simultaneously hold both a five year license and a lifetime license.

I'm confused by this. If you have a lifetime license why the heck would you ever apply for a 5 year?

Because the 5-year LTCH is an "enhanced" (i.e. Brady-compliant) license that would preclude the need for a NICS check for FFL purchases, and has the potential to provide reciprocity with more states.

Governor Holcomb today signed HB 1284 while at the NRA Annual Meeting! Jim Lucas' Facebook selfies with the governor after the signing are hilarious.

We didn’t get everything we were hoping for this year, but I would say it was a pretty good year. House bill 1284 was a solid bill and a needed change with out the amendments for the five-year LTCH and church carry .

I’d like to see the tax credit for training or storage devices get a hearing, and I’d like to see a clean house bill 1253 come back.

Now that the bill is signed any idea when it actually goes in to effect? I look around for the date but didn't see it mentioned.

im certain its july 1, 2019 as that is when most state bills take effect in any year. aka the 1st of july.

I believe i read, at least on the free 5 year ltch its July 1 2020. I could be wrong.
Kelly will be along shortly im sure to set us all straight

I was "told" that it take effect on Jan. 1 2020 but I'm not sure that is correct. I've been trying to find out for certain because mine and my wife's LTCH expires February 2020.

And I believe you may concurrently hold a 5 year and a lifetime.

Three possibilities. (Not sure which, just laying out how the sausage factory operates)
    Immediately.
July 1 (fiscal year start when many bills kick in)
    or as stated 1/1/20.

Luckily this isnt like the Sunday alcohol sales bill where its effect will impact many and is urgently needed. Just for safety's sake, dont go shooting anyone until next year, mmmkay?

EDIT: And you two didnt go lifetime WHY?

I believe, based on various comments from Guy on FB and his radio show, that the self-defense immunity was an emergency measure and goes into effect immediately. The 5-year license July1, 2020. Church carry - not sure. I'm sure Guy will clarify on his show.

I concur with Hawkeyes belief of how HB 1284 was/will be implemented.

Civil immunity was the part implemented as soon as the governor signed it. The free five-year LTCH part kicks in July 2020 (AKA Fiscal year 2021) and the five-year LTCH will be in place with fee in place July 2019.
