Some of the swag ran out early.

POF = small aluminum o-ring sealed keychain tube with foam ear plugs.
Cabelas = cheap but cool - folding flashlight, pen, knife, can opener multi-tool
    Caracal = very nice t-shirts

Just got home. Terrific time. Lots of friends, lots of learning, and lots of great deals.

My mission was optics and I accomplished with gusto. Deals aplenty to be had.

So many good optics out now.

    Good to see everyone.

My guess is they were Mennonite, Amish are pretty against guns, like the Quakers I know, but every sect has different rules and the young sometimes push the limits just like the English young do.

Amish certainly own firearms, muzzle-loaders and bows most men are avid deer and turkey hunters. I have lived around both Amish and Mennonites for most of my life in Southern Maryland.

Just got home another full day at the convention. The crowds were weighed down it was so much easier to navigate I really enjoyed today. Upgraded my life membership to endowment membership. Picked up a few t-shirts for free and got some other swag. My son really really cleaned up on swag though. Guys were pulling him into their booth and giving them stuff off of there personal collections of patches and stuff. One guy had a tactical plate carrier that was covered in patches and he just started ripping them off and handing them to my son. I was kind of jealous lol! Got some good last minute deals on some NRA silver rounds. Made a huge list of future purchases. All in all a great day!

    Definitely.....
The Amish I know have rifles. Most are lever action, bolt and single shooters. I saw one with a high-point carbine once. Lot's of shotguns of all types. They hunt by the rules like we all do. (or should) There's a few that are members of my club and their daughters can out shoot most the men there in the 22 benchrest match.

If some Amish were spotted are the convention, wouldn't they also be NRA members?

    Isn't that great.
Kids really come in handy sometimes. Reminds me of Halloween when my girls were younger. I would tell them to go up and bring me back all kinds of goodies. They would make it a competition on who brings daddy the most candy. I sure miss how dumb they were back then. :):

Possible. I thought about that. These were adults, not teens and they they had the squarish beards that I associate with Amish.

My absolute favorite display... the Thompson SMG's that belonged to various criminals, including one that belonged to Baby Face Nelson.

I have to show this photo though, not for the Thompson's, but for the background photo. It is 3 St. Louis police officers demonstrating how to search a suspect. Note the officer holding the Thompson on his colleague, bolt cocked, finger on trigger, and it appears the mag is loaded!

Speaking of kids, there was swag galore at the youth event ballroom. After we completed the booth scavenger hunt both my kids got a raffle ticket and they were giving out some killer prizes. I saw at least five families win $250 gift cards from Palmetto State Armory. They raffled off more than a dozen Cordova coolers, at least 10 Daisy BB guns, Henry single shot rifles, soft rifle cases, fleece jackets, hats, NRA mugs, shooting glasses, ear pro. One lucky family even won a Dillion XL650 press. It was insane.

This doesn't even count the dozens and dozens of t-shirts, hats, and padded kid sized tactical gloves they threw out to the kids.

My daughter won a Henry rifle case and my son won a voucher for a pair of Rocky boots worth up to $300. He's about to turn 4 and his feet grow a size up every few months, so I may just order the largest youth size they have and wait for him to grow into them.

Honestly they were giving away thousands and thousands of dollars worth of stuff.

That would be expected. Col. Cooper's four rules weren't published until 1991. That is also why you see it in older TV shows/movies, though most of them appear to have learned the rules more recently.

Thats awesome. One day im going to actually have a plan and see everything. I didn't this year.
I also got one of those $300 rocky boots gift cards for upgrading my life membership. I dont even wear boots and I doubt they will have my size. It was a nice gesture.

I really wanted to make a return appearance today after giving my legs the day off yesterday. Granddaughter had lacrosse games from 11-3. Wife got sick so I had to stand in at the games for her. I usually go to her games but today I was going to the show until wife got sick.
I must be doing something wrong at shows like this. I never get offered any swag!

I went back today briefly, at least the meter parking is free.

Saw Ronnie Barrett and Allen West having a lengthy conversation, didn't bother them.

Chris Cox stopped by at Silencer Shop booth while I was there. I'm not a fan of him, but he was being polite shook hands with many people there.

checked out CZ and Colt booths which I skipped yesterday. Liked the Bren and Colt King Cobra.

I've never paid attention to Holosun til today. I'm impressed, specially the 510C(mini EOTech).

Only one shirt, a nice wicking fabric from Anderson Manufacturing but hey, it was all free and now I’ve got lots more decals for my gun safes. I put them on magnetic backing so they’re not permanently installed.
