    I don't think the US needs sit back and take these threats from known radicals that will attack and murder innocents.
    Take these maggots at their word. IF they threaten the U.S. then give them a taste of things to come. Make sure they're given a large enough sample to give them indigestion for a couple of generations if they're fortunate.

    Their stance was that we couldn't retaliate against Qassem Soleimani because he was a General in their army and it would be an act of war. Putting aside the General has committed so many terrorist acts and led the attack on our embassy, attacking our embassy is an act of war. I'd have no problem going after the next guy up if they don't want to shut it down.
    ****em, shooting down US aircraft is an act of war too. Tomahawk Tuesday’s anyone?

    Bush said after 9/11 in his famous address to congress on September 20th 2001, and to a standing ovation from BOTH sides of the isle;

    "Our response involves far more than instant retaliation and isolated strikes. Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign, unlike any other we have ever seen. It may include dramatic strikes, visible on TV, and covert operations, secret even in success. We will starve terrorists of funding, turn them one against another, drive them from place to place, until there is no refuge or no rest. And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism. Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists. From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime."
    - President George W. Bush 9/20/2001

    The message has been clear. Just wasn't enforced for 8 years under odumbo the apologizer in chief.
    Theres a new President in town and he will **** you up

    Exactly. Maybe might doesn't make right, but it will sometimes make the other side sit the **** down and shut up or think twice about their actions. The previous administrations (yes, plural) didn't understand this. Russia didn't understand it prior to that. No western (and I include Russia/USSR as "western" comparatively speaking) country's military has ever been able to conquer anywhere in the ME or southern Asia.

    I am glad the 82nd is involved. I spent 3 days at Division HQ in November '79 planning the rescue of our hostages in Iran, before Jimmy peanuts told the people he was going to solve it diplomatically.

    Then he sent in Delta on a botched clandestine mission. I had a friend on that mission that resigned after he exfilled and found out the president had told the enemy he was still in country.

    Our people languished for 444 days until a President cut out of the same no nonsense cloth as this one.

    Then we get the reincarnation of JC in BHO, and he gives us Benghazi.

    .

    Small world, I have a friend that was on that mission. He broke his back, he sold the security business he had a few years back and plays with street rods way to much....

    J. Peanuts was a terrible POTUS.

    Yeah, we were sitting in the ops room coming up with contingency plans all through that intentionally failed "rescue" attempt shaking our heads at what was being planned and trying to figure out how to un-**** it. We spent almost a month on alert and burned a lot of caffeine before we came to the realization that it was never intended to work. Jimmuah never wanted those folks to come home alive IMHO, the soldiers too. (Take the sand filters out...great idea...if you want to kill those people going into the desert, it just failed earlier than planned.)

    This opinion piece was published in the NYT mere hours before the Baghdad strike.

    Either the author channeled his inner Tom Clancy and had a remarkable coincidence in timing, or...
