What has Trump been spectacularly wrong on? Not a policy difference, something he got wrong and the country is paying dearly?

He didn't purge the Obama appointees when he entered office as Obama did and the country has been paying for it.

I think he was just giving them a fair shot and they repaid him with a stab in the back. ****ing treasonous spies.
From now on any administration switch will come with a banker box and security escort.

At least Trumps next 2 terms should go smoothly after weeding out all the toxic traitors.

There may well be some validity to this point but the majority of trouble makers were civil service employees like Col. Vindman etc. He should have swapped out ambassadors faster, but which was the priority, filling the judicial vacancies Obama intended to leave for HRC or ambassadors? I'll take judges for $1000 Alex...

BTW, I do not believe Trump himself thought in his heart he would win, much of the Presidency was set up on the fly after he won, before that he was fighting to win...

You asked. I answered. The results are that the country has paid in delays, obstruction and division exacerbated by this oversight. I'm a Trump supporter, but this has been his biggest mistake. Most of the biggest obstacles against Trump's legitimate administration as president have come from the executive levels of the FBI, DOJ, ambassadors, etc. Not having those positions filled would have caused less harm than leaving the snakes in place.

Absolutely correct. But some of these positions had to be approved by the Senate and the dumocraps were obstructing every part of the process to approve every appointee.

Doesn't change my point one bit. No ambassador to X-istan. So what? That doesn't close down the embassy. No FBI head or Dept of Labor head (who is still there pushing leftist diversity priorities even now). What would be the loss? More visible positions going unfilled would have made the obstruction by the congressional swamp more visible to the general public.

And I agree it doesn't change your valid point one bit. Just adding information about the situation.

There are currently 38 vacant ambassadorships of which 12 have nominations and the Senate has yet to approve them. Some of these nominations will be obstructed by the dumocraps beyond the next election. Some of these countries are so low priority they may not even receive nominations. Trump has to prioritize appointments so the Senate works on the more important ones. So he can't even make nominations to the less important ones so the Senate doesn't work on those and further delay the more important ones.
