Had to shut down my VFW today.
The Gov didn't include private clubs, but the brave VFW HQ decided to shut us all down anyhow...

    Score another one for panic...

At least we can do carry outs for the fish fry on Friday...

Holcomb's team (or is it FB?) is deleting comments and whole threads from their posts about coronavirus the moment any civil (importantly!) discussion starts. Happened to me twice already. I mentioned how disproportionate the response is, and provided links to official sources.

No good... 1 good 12ga blast and my life savings would be up in smoke.

I want it to go up in poo.

I have a nice respirator for automotive painting...but if you think I'm wasting my cartridges on this...

Me too... N95 filters out in the garage. The .gov did just approve 3M to fill the void and supply non-FDA compliant N95 filters to the masses. This seems like a no-brainer and it offends me that our government got this broken to begin with.

This is a dumb question, how does the U.S. healthcare system compare to Italy's? I know theirs is more universal than ours but as far as care, beds, doctors, etc.

I looked up some past pandemics here is what I found.

    Some pandemics in the past.
The Spanish Flu (1918-1920) it killed up to 100 million people worldwide.
The Asian Flu (1956-1958) killed an estimated four million people globally with the death toll in the United States alone approaching 70,000.
The Hong Kong Flu (1968-1969) killed a million people worldwide, and an estimated 100,000 people in the United States.

This is why you quarantine your groceries for at least 2 weeks and disinfect the ones you'll be using right away. Yes a lots of glove switching and washing. :(

I understand this takes extreme discipline and might be almost impossible in some households but there can't be any room for trusting anything entering your homestead. Supplies, packages, mail, visitors, the wind, etc...

Yeeah. I ain't doing that. Guess I'm doomed. Might as well swing by Chick Fil-A this evening. :):

Johns Hopkins website dashboard shows just 181,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus around the globe, with 7,100 deaths and 78,000 recoveries. In the United States, there are fewer than 4,000 confirmed cases and 63 deaths, 40 of them in Washington State.

If the precautions work, the pandemic will stay relatively small. If the virus is really not that big of a deal, it will also stay relatively small. So it will be hard to distinguish between "that's what we needed" and "too much."
