Funny how nobody has been able to produce them in the six days I've been asking for them. Also funny how asking someone to back up claims they pulled out of their ass is arguing for the sake of arguing.

OK, I will leave you all to your *****ing and moaning, since that's all this really is about anyway.

Cool. I'll check back with you May 17th to see if you've come up with that scientific study supporting the efficacy of cloth masks

Come on SD-II they are readily available with a click of the switch. I have seen them. I see them all the time in my travels.
If you want to believe what the CDC is putting in the Koolaide and what midget guy (Fauci Sp) are pushing that's just fine. You can. But a growing majority are seeing this for exactly what it is. I have spoken with Dr's and other front line medical people we know personally. We know a few folks that have contracted it and survived just fine. I also know 2 who have passed (allegedly) from this but they were in terrible health.

Will this kill you.....Possibly depending on how you are medically before you catch it. But untold numbers of people die of the flu every freaking year. And those numbers are also out there.

Is this a pandemic...I do not believe it is. I truly believe it is far deeper and WAY MORE POLITICAL THAN MOST "WANT" TO UNDERSTAND. The MSM is pushing this from every available angle and they are getting busted all the time in the staged effort to scare the living hell out of people.

You know personally that CKW and myself are compromised as to our immunity. We are both un-afraid to venture out and do so in some fashion every day. We are no longer concerned nor are we believing the :bs: anymore. Look around. With eyes wide open. If you are in fear then take the proper precautions. That is your right and I will observe it and respect you in it. But do not come at me with all of this. We do not believe it. That is our right.

OK peoples. This one is near done.

USA flu season rates (official from CDC, given as a range, as they don't confirm every case, and suspect as many as 15x do not get reported):
    https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/preliminary-in-season-estimates.htm
24k - 64k deaths this season, so far. We are also trending notably lower than previous years. In 2017/18 we were above epidemic levels for 16 consecutive weeks:
    https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/season/flu-season-2017-2018.htm
And, we topped out at roughly 80,000 deaths.

USA covid rates (these are the official numbers, which everyone has admitted are intentionally skewed. The CDC calls this "confirmed and probable"):
    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-updates/cases-in-us.html
78,771 deaths this year, so far.

So, from my rough math, it looks like Covid is roughly as bad as a "bad" flu year.

    You are welcome.

What leaves people wondering is why folks can't be satisfied to control their own actions but want to control the actions of others as well. I'm not arguing that Menard's is not within their rights to engage in safety theatre, just like Dick's was within their rights to stop selling [STRIKE]evil death machines[/STRIKE] firearms. I see the 'Menard's is making us safer' argument as just as specious as a 'Dick's is making us safer' argument.

Pretty diagrams on mask effectiveness for which I can't find their claimed source (the 5 Apr 20 NYT article) in order to read the claimed second hand cite of University research.or diagrams which are also not sourced, such as the claimed cambridge university one that deals with particle sizes of 0.65 micron to 1.1 micron (4x to 9x of the virus size), and for some reason show the surgical mask as slightly less effective at screening particles of all sizes while the cloth mask gains 8% efficiency in similar circumstances make me question (and want to read) what the experimental method was

So, to me, the question of mask efficacy is wide open and I am aware that encouraging as many people as possible to be masked does contribute to the visual impression that we're not safe and things cannot go back to normal. I am left wondering if it is security theatre on a par with TSA

See, now that's a reasonable explanation, and I will ponder it.

It's sad when I can converse better with a Buckeye than my own statesmen.
    https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/30/world/coronavirus-who-masks-recommendation-trnd/index.html?fbclid=IwAR3pXdbkAoVk7ofNmC9r6VUdKt67j3V9HmdLV59DkrMYfMLo_KNdx70T2NA

There's that something I talk about - the effectiveness of masks. It's plain, it's factual, it's not speculation about motives.

I support businesses right to serve who they want.
Or bake cakes for who they want or not for those they dont.
Business owners have to make business decisions. Those decisions will affect their bottom line. Some may even force their business to go under.
I as a consumer make decisions and spend my dollars with businesses I like and support.
If I see a great deal on something at menards that I need I'll throw on a mask and buy it. I dont think the owner of menards is a nazi or a unamerican.
Hell if we want to get technical you're probably helping China more than America if you shop at walmart. I dont see mass peoples boycotting walmart because they get most of their crap from China.
    They also employ American workers.

Now companies like gander mountain who are 100% anti-gun. No I wont spend a dime there ever again. Ever.

However if the government forces you to put on a mask to go out then that is an infringement.
It is not when a business requires a mask.

We have all been fooled by this China virus hoax. I don't blame businesses for trying to cover their asses.
I dont like it. But I get it

I don't think any thinks it is an infringement of their rights.

I choose not to wear a mask, so they told me I could not enter. So, I do not.

There are places I do not go because I do not want to and this is one of them.

Um, can I add that facts or not, the cliches and platitudes are pretty much worn out. It is to the point of pandering to the lowest common denominator and most base fears of the masses.

    Menards that is.

This Carona thing is wearing pretty thin too.

So, are we believing the WHO now? I thought they were in on the conspiracy to destroy our republic. And a link from CNN, no less! :):

Pretty stale article, though. The WHO might have gotten with the program now and joined the Deep State.

I dunno - always follow the money, right? Trump tells they can get $$$ is they fall into line with him.

Context is everything and March 31 has a much different context than May 11.

"There also is the issue that we have a massive global shortage," Ryan said about masks and other medical supplies. "Right now the people most at risk from this virus are frontline health workers who are exposed to the virus every second of every day. The thought of them not having masks is horrific."

Why is it horrific? I assume that the frontline workers they are talking about are not the ones with COVID-19...and it's horrific that they would not have masks? I thought masks didn't do anything when healthy people wore them.

Prove it is worse or get lost. You are the one making a claim, I say the numbers are similar to other respiratory diseases humans deal with all the time, and they are, and we do not wear masks for that...

Purely anecdotal I admit but a certain central Indiana healthcare organization that I may have an inside track on was realizing 6-8 "normal" flu deaths per week pre covid. Since the hysteria has befallen us I believe they said they had lost either 38 or 48 patients to covid. Interestingly enough the "normal" flu deaths had dropped to zero in the same time frame. Do the math and/or come to your own conclusions.

At one dollar per customer bought protective mask, I wonder what the mark-up is compared to what Menard's pays per mask. Perhaps a new profit center? Require something to enter and then sell it outside, for 'convenience', at a 500% mark-up :@ya:

I believe their cost to be about ten cents a mask. I further believe that INGO officially called that gouging...

Probably closer to a nickel, this is a pharmacist in Long Island that was charged by the feds; "For example, records obtained during a judicially-authorized search of the store indicate that three-ply disposable face masks that Singh purchased for a per-unit price of $0.07 were resold by Singh for a per-unit price of $1.00 - a markup of approximately 1,328 percent."

Not even the single ply that menards wants you to buy.

I'm guessing the price he paid and the price he's charging would have seemed normal just a few months ago.

So, Dr. Birx (Fauci's sidekick) , of t.v. fame, has come out and said she can't believe anything the CDC is putting out.
My biggest qualm with all of this :poop: is that we are NOT getting consistent information.
Every new "study" contradicts the last.

There is zero consensus on ANY of this, with the exception that the MSM is trying their best to scare the living daylights out of the entire population, and one needs to ask, "why?"

If they can't keep their "facts" straight, then what's the point of the exercise?
At first it was to "slow the rate of infection to ensure that hospitals were not overwhelmed".
Then it turned to, "stop the spread", and now there are those who would continue the "quarantine" until there is a vaccine.

There is still no vaccine for SARS, or for HIV, or even for influenza.
No, this may have started with the best of intentions, but it has gone way beyond good intentions.
