It is instructive to look at the demographic breakdown of the FBI violent crime database, because witnesses are desribing the perpetrator(s) to police rather than police developing the suspect on their own, which should eliminate some police racial bias (should it exist)

Right, that's what I meant by "suspects" - as described by witnesses.

Why don't you just say it: They are criminal drug addicts. Black people are criminals and addicted to drugs. That makes it OK to shoot them when they are unarmed. That makes it OK to pull them over on a Terry stop excuse.

Go ahead. You're thinking it. Just say it.

    The policies put in place...
How can you not realize that policies put in place are intended to produce specific effects, be it justifications of higher taxes, regentrification or whatever?
Walking through the room today where the TV news was on I started laughing at the mayor of Indianapolis and his peace walk through neighborhoods. Indie is so being set up. Reminds me of what the nephew in law from South Africa said, that in America they do to cities what in Africa they do to countries.

You haven't crossed a line, yet; but I'm sure you can see it from where you're at

I think you are inferring things not implied. The statistics are what they are. They don’t imply motive. You should stop believing the worst of people just because they present some facts you find discomforting.

I’m not saying they’re criminals or drug addicts. And Idunno. Maybe your memory isn’t working so well these days. We’ve had this exact conversation before. I said the same thing I’m saying now. I haven’t changed my mind. I am as against stop and frisk as I was in that earlier conversation. But you think you know what I’m thinking now?

I’m saying that if blacks are shot slightly less than whites per encounter, and a disproportional number of blacks are shot more, that means blacks have a lot more encounters. I’m not saying why that is. I don’t know why. It’s unlikely all just one cause. I’m saying that’s what the statistics are. So tell me all the grand top-down plans the democrats are proposing to stop that? They’re not. Because they think like you do that police reform will make it all go away. Again I ask you what police reform would have prevented that man from presenting himself as a deadly threat to the police? I think your ire is misdirected. This isn’t a police issue. This issue stems from factors far upstream from police. If police are called, it’s probably a lot more like closing the barn door after the horses escaped. Maybe some policies could be changed. I think eliminating stop and frisk would reduce a lot of police encounters.

All Stop and Frisk and Terry stops and vehicular stops are not the same, although they overlap.

And I guess, by the same reasoning, I can rightly assume you think smashing businesses and burning cop cars is okay.

I have a written history on this site on my position. So, go ahead and attempt to twist what I've said on record many times.

Although I might have expected more from you, Mr. Tombs.

Dude. People aren’t that ***damn smart. There’s no small group of geniuses sitting around pulling strings while wringing their hands. The world is a bit more complex than that. Unintended consequences wrought through good intentions explains a whole lot more of the evil that the world experiences than does the grandest conspiracies. Not saying there aren’t evil geniuses out there scheming. Just not quite scaled as you imagine.

I can say the same thing about what you said to me. You think you know what I’m thinking, and I have a whole history of writing the opposite of what you suggested. I’m not offended by that. But I would like you to devote your belief to something more accurate.

They’re in the same game. I do think that has the effect of increasing encounters. More encounters=more opportunities for things to turn out bad.
