    yep,
I have and it works real good with no problems. Like he said, steel wool leaves shards of metal and sometimes they are harder to clean up than the rust is.
Just make sure the penny is pre 1982 real copper penny. I have also used a copper scouring pad, find them in the kitchen area of the grocery. again, make sure it's real copper.
Like it shows, it does leave the bluing spotted, but i prefer that look compared to the rusty surface.

I have used this method more than once with amazing results.
Cleaned up an old revolver for my nephew that looked trashed and he wasn't sure it was the same gun when i gave it back.

Yeah, I have already tried this after watching this video. I wanted to know if anyone else had tried as well.

Yeah, I used it several years ago. As has been stated it does leave the surface "spotty" as there is usually zero bluing left where you removed the rust. Last time I used it was for a Ruger 22 that I bought at a small gun shop that had purchased it from a police auction. The bore looked great but the exterior looked like it had been stored underwater. I later had the gun re-blued. I would not the penny method for a "collectable" firearm, but it does make a gun look quite a bit better than having rust.

Haven't purchased any rusty firearms for several years and I obviously don't store mine in a condition where they would rust, so haven't use the technique for years!

I have also used it with good results. I acquired a marlin model 39 with some light surface rust and was heart broken at the looks, but after some elbow grease and a penny it oiled up nice.

When the rust is the lumpy more than light surface rust kind the sharp edge of the penny cuts the lumps down, I have used it with great success a number of times.
