Many have been pointing out the evidence that we are in fact sliding into the Matrix of authoritarianism, but unfortunately too many are blinded by sophist ideals and are unable to fathom beyond what they are told by subversive media apparatchiks. Like Solzhenitsyn, many will only learn too late what many have been warning for (at this point) the better part of two years.
The problem with this is the societal idea that there is no personal fault anymore. Even if some of these people "wake up" in a few years and see how bad it's become, I'm afraid their first reaction will be, "Why didn't anyone do anything about this? What were you all doing??"

I predict hung jury, 10-2 vote in favor of acquittal.

My non-scientific basis for this prediction; it's been reported two female jurors wore masks through the entire trial. Those are the 2 voting guilty and one is the foreman, forewoman, foreperson, whatever the f**k we're calling it. Their minds were made up the day the trial started and no amount of evidence could change them in 1000 years.
On the money. Mask obsessed lib women will never acquit a white male gun owner in a thousand million years no matter what.

Robert Barnes, one of the lawyers frequently on the Rekieta Law feed, was on the defense team early on. He conducted polling in Kenosha prior to jury selection that indicated this would happen.

On the plus side for Rittenhouse, his polling also indicated there would be a couple not guilty votes whose minds would be made up and unchangeable.

I am far from all knowing of course, but being in an IT field it surprised me that a mail client would auto compress video without notification or prompt (it only notifies if the file is sufficiently large). Every mail client I’ve seen gives a prompted choice or warning that an attachment is being compressed, except Gmail on iPhone where if the file is small the compressing status bar doesn’t even display.

My guess is Gmail has your consent to compress buried in their 400+ page user agreement that no one ever reads.

The time stamp difference shows that the version the defense received has a Media created timestamp of 21 minutes after the Prosecutions copy, this leads me to think Kraus approached the defense at the first break after receiving it, defense asked for it to be emailed due to short notice, and then this kerfuffle happened.

IMO, not malicious, but still very concerning of course.

This scenario sounds like a very likely reason (stupidity on both sides). I work with a lot of lawyers and IT is not their skillset. Some of them can barely answer their cell phone. Some attorneys have their emails printed for them and then dictate a response for their secretary to type and email the response.

Is how this young man has been treated in the media and elsewhere shameful?

    Yes.

Is this new? No. What is new is that we can all see it in real time.

There will be a verdict or declaration of deadlock today. I revise my timeline for this to just after lunch. If it is the declaration of a deadlock, if an Allen charge is given (explained upthread and optional), there will the declaration of a hung jury and mistrial by the end of the day. The idea of mistrial with prejudice is still out there, even if the jury hangs....but I would be highly surprised if that happened.

BLM must be worried poopless right now.

If Kyle gets acquitted, their entire Democrat supported program of unchallenged rampaging through the streets with impunity is threatened.
They have at least one infiltrator on the jury, I don't think acquittal will happen. It will probably be deadlocked and then maybe dismissal of the charges. This case was a turd and nobody wanted to prosecute it, they may not try again.

Would a hung jury mean another trial?
Maybe. In my opinion, probably. Generally speaking, a hung jury results in a mistrial that would allow for a second trial.

In a less media-crazy case, the prosecutors would go back and take a look at whether they would even want to try the case again. Many times, they dismiss. Of course, that would never happen in this case (see also, Cosby). Further, there is another chance to plea bargain. Finally, there is a pending motion for mistrial and that does not go away if the jury hangs. The judge could still grant that motion with prejudice...which I see as a very remote possibility.

[ETA] Oh, and there may be appeals before a second trial about the mistrial and any evidentiary issues.

It's more than acquiescence to it, the future tenants are unknowingly building the gulag. And I think the difference between now and Solzhenitsyn's era is that there are no longer any nations with opposing viewpoints. Jeremiah 5:28-31 KJV

I'm a female gun owner and libertarian. I often wear a mask these days. It doesn't bother me much, and if it helps me avoid missing work for 2 weeks or taking Covid to my 88 yr old father, it's worth it. I don't want to start another mask debate in this thread. I'm just saying it's not a reliable way to predict someone's other viewpoints or how a jury member would vote. It may have to do with their profession or risk to their family.

I think at the two year mark, after vaccines and boosters, clinging to the mask all day is a very reliable predictor of a person's political attitude and personality type.
