ok so the great reset, does anyone think this theory was inspired by the purge movies, or does it predate that franchise? i haven't done my research on this topic, i admit but it is fascinating

Capitalism was brought up early on, I've forgotten much of the middle of the thread, but just wanted to say I've had some conversations with some younger people who have disparaged capitalism. I've had pretty good luck getting them to see that its crony capitalism and the .gov picking winners and losers that is the real problem, that capitalism works. I think this is relevant, because while my experiences are certainly antidotal, if enough younger people are shown this light the pendulum can swing on this.

i think they are just parroting things they hear from musicians and actors, if you are trying to gain the appeal of the every man, that's the kind of nonsense you spew. I am interested to know how you were able to gain ground with them in conversation? any key points that have seemed to be noticeably effective?

I mean, have you ever thought about it? It is kind of like the nonsensical covid mandates, you know the ones where you could eat outside in a tent full of people but not inside in a building full of people. Just someone making a rule so they feel like they did something. All the 50 posts rule does is make people try and sprint out 50 posts, and then some poor sucker had to read through all 50 and had to judge them 1 by 1 on if it met the " quality" standard or not (35 did not LOL). I cant imagine being that person, you have one life to live and you are going to spend it reading my 50 **** posts and then put any amount of time and brain cycles into judging them!?

But i mean i totally get it, its a cash grab, you either get them to pony up the $20 bucks, or you get 50 page refreshes on ads, and then the random comments will generate random replies which echos out wider into more ad views. The fatal flaw is it generates more work and does nothing to prevent any nonsense. If you wanted to both increase the number of $20 supporters, and reduce useless work by the admins, you would make it a 20 post minimum with a limit of 5 per day or something. The reality is there wasn't enough active threads to really contribute 50 useful posts all at once anyways, and if i knew i had no shot to bang it out an an hour I would have just paid.

So let’s do this. If you don’t like the rules then go start your own site and don’t moderate it. See how long it stays alive without eating itself.
You knew exactly what you were doing. So did we. The entire staff discussed your run and decided to clip the one liners. And we did.
Now if this continues we can take further steps because we have discretion on what where and when as to keeping the site rolling along without conflict.
This discussion is done.
Please don’t test me by responding. It’s been a long day and I am not feeling it Ok.

Musicians, actors, media in general, CNN, stand up comics and facebook are where a lot of people get their "news", you are correct. It's a very low standard, and it's not that hard to show fault in it.
Most I have talked to do respond well to simple logic, when you point out the motivation for what ever is happening is due to greed, not capitalism. They can see through it, and they understand that they themselves are trading something they have for something they want, and when you explain that is the basis for all capitalism and all you have to do is keep power decentralized they can see at least enough light to realize it doesn't all have to be bad, and it actually may be the best system we know.
Not saying they are all convinced or anything but the seed is planted to at least help change the direction of their pendulum.
