OK, where to begin...

50 quality posts are required for access to the classifieds. Site Supporter status bypasses this, but the vetting process of being an active member here is why many choose to use the classifieds here.

INGO is a discussion forum with a classifieds section. We are not Armslist or Gunbroker. We are more like a big dysfunctional family than anything, but it's OUR big dysfunctional family.

In my signature line (along with the links to the site and classifieds rules) you'll see "come for the classifieds, stay for the discussion." That sums up a lot about INGO.

Also we are different from most places on the Interwebz since we quite often know each other in the realz. We have shot together, eaten together, and cried together when we lost more friends than I can count.

Like I said: come for the classifieds, stay for the discussion.

True. If I find myself getting mad in a thread, I will go back and unsubscribe, or at least skip reading it for a while. That is better than me typing something I would regret. So far it has worked well for me.

Wondered if I was the only reader (non-political, non internet) on here. No one talks about books.

Well, I am definitely both political and on the 'net. While I have a wall of books in my office (most of which I have read), they are also very dusty. I need to start carving out some time away from the 'net to just read. Maybe I will finally finish "Godel, Escher, Bach." Started it in the 80's but never quite finished it.

Most of my reading is on the 'net. But I find reading commentary is more interesting than offering my own two cents.

I've never subscribed to a thread. Never got the point of doing that. I can look and see if there are new posts.

I subscribe to ones that interest me. Without that I find it hard to keep up with them. If the thread isn't getting a lot of posts it will slip down a few pages on the "new posts" view, and I seldom make it that far into that list.

I have yet to meet Jedi, and yes I I want to see if the stories are true. I've heard his description from other INGOers IRL making the legend more mysterious. Funny enough, I pictured him as a early twenties girl who wore cat ears as she typed when I first starting browsing here three years ago. Maybe it's because I know someone who fits that description who also likes hello kitty Legos and hates going into the woods.

I got mad at someone, almost left.
Because they said something like, any military person would carry out any order and shoot any person just because they were told to.

And then I thought about it.
That person, or INGO, doesn't affect my house, my work, my pay, my health, etc.

So, I just didn't bother with that one person anymore.
Soon enough, they were no longer posting.

This individual not only was never in the Military, but has the US Military confused with the Jem'Hadar from Star Trek Deep Space 9.

The ignore button is your friend. I can't use it anymore since I'm on staff (I can, just choose not to) but everyone I had on "Ignore" was eventually banned. Hhhhmmmm...

Actually this thread is to make fun of people complaining about the 50 post rule, not asking for opinions of it.

I didn't see anyone trying to walk over anyone.
