Ahhh, so the readout is measuring the travel on that short threaded vertical shaft that's behind the readout face ?
.... or the collet at the top of the threaded portion /
The circled part is bolted to the quill inside and moves up and down with it. The center of it is hollow to clear the threaded rod. The digital readout travels with it and the scale is stationary. The threaded rod is for the adjustable travel stops.

I know for fact you are still sharp as ever. Thanks for asking too, sometimes I don't know if anyone is actually interested in this stuff or just being polite.

With you, I'm both polite and interested. After all, I worked with modifying nuclear weapons for about 5 years, and they're mechanical marvels. Sometimes, I need to see things in person, but your explanation brought your digital travel readout into focus .

I'm looking forward to trying out .357 Sig. I have never shot the round, yet have a gun setup for it and 500 rounds of ammo. Lol.
I think you need to make some time for the range. The gpt I had hit the spot, you would probably benefit from getting some too.

And for the record, I really enjoy all of your gunsmithing/machining/tinkering posts. Keep them coming :yesway:

I definitely need some GPT. Projects are keeping me busy and somewhat sane. I think.

Think I'm on the upswing. Not sure what I had - food poisoning, some bug, covid?

At work today but taking it easy. Noodles and Co Mac and cheese for lunch.

Going to Fort Canada tomorrow early for a pour. Yee haw.

Spent yesterday doing what seemed like non stop laundry and dishes… finally we decided it was time to leave the house, found Menards and decided to grab a few things we needed. As soon as we left, I started getting a migraine… Spent the rest of the afternoon and into the evening resting and napping it off. Awoke to mama had made homemade pizza and enjoyed a movie on the couch with the girls… was able to enjoy some.

Then we spent the rest of the evening revising our budget for this year. Moving things around. Talking about changes. Making notes to check on things. Looking like it’s going to be a good year in our home. My job is stable and mama’s cleaning business is about full up with her availability right now. Getting my ducks in a row to start my own business from home in the next handful of years. Hoping to have the house paid for or darn close to it! This year we stepped back a little bit to take care of some other things. Back on the gas this year with more intentionality.

Ok, you guys kilt it... Rebutt Reboot was required to clear the images running around in my head.

Here's a little something to clear the cache for the rest of you guys. In honor of BA.
