There's just simply no evidence that this is true. The plural of "anecdote" isn't "data".
Contraire Pierre. As much as some wants to erase History facts, 1934, 1936, 1968, 1986, 2003 and more have something in common along with the 20,000 other gun laws. GCA were not passed because the society was a bunch of choir boys wearing a Charleston Heston TShirt.

    Whad he win Bob?

And he will keep voting for every tax increase in this state too. Id like to see someone primary him who won't be tax happy and support 2nd amendment issues. I heard thats the conservative thing to do
Yep. I'm all for holding Lucas accountable for supporting the gas tax increase for "infrastructure" when the state was already running a budget surplus - and especially when it's clear that "infrastructure" continues to suck in Central Indiana.

It's not my fault that Boomers and prior generations didn't keep their eye on the ball. History didn't stop in 2003. I wonder what's happened across the country (including, as directly applicable to this thread, here in Indiana) since 2003?

The antis are losing. The Fudds want to FUD and pretend like we're the ones who are losing.

Did I hear Lucas right on the gun guy that he was driving back from Texas? In the middle of session?

One can try to label and divide all who think differently to fit their perception. I prefer to fight and recruit all present and future gun owners to our cause. My thought is Turning the antis are the key. I am proud to say that I have and do just that. Understand and Convert instead of hate your fellow man is a win win.

Yes our numbers in legislation are on the good side. We are fortunate to have such a conservative state. However, I do not and will not condone stupid gun tricks for our cause. Especially from an improper person with a criminal history who buys votes from one issue voters for his seat.

This is my last post in this thread.

    See you on the range

    Two points:
    1. There is a near-zero chance that "Students Demand Action" activists are amenable to change. Ironically, Lucas was attempting exactly the conversion that you say you want.
    2. Nothing that I have said implies any "hate" of my "fellow man". I am dismissive of their demands. I do not hate them.

Lucas is not an "improper person" (I assume you mean "prohibited possessor"?). Lucas did not perform "stupid gun tricks".

This discussion should be based on fact, rather than on hyperbole and falsehood.

The biggest Achilles heel of the gin rights movement is how pathetically easy it is to manipulate us into throwing our own under the bus.

Your heuristic should be "if gun, then support". You should refuse to ever condemn a gun owner or carrier. "Irresponsible" should not be in your vocabulary. You should be 100% on the side of gun 100% of the time regardless of facts or perceptions, and should refuse to apologize, dial back, or compromise. You should have and practice overwhelming in group bias at all times.

That's how they do it, and that's how they win over and over. Your take on this should be "Jim Lucas did nothing wrong, **** those little brats". They will never have mercy on you or let you keep your guns because you threw other gun owners under the bus.

I have no problem calling out actually irresponsible behavior, particularly when that behavior leads to harm. Otherwise: absolutely.

I find it instructive that those who insist that Lucas did something wrong/irresponsible/etc. adamantly refuse to articulate or describe what, exactly, he did wrong/irresponsible/etc.

Well wonder if they'll come up with any legislation to bar any illegal alien from getting into any state benifits like Medicare or bar the illegals kids from attending our pu lic schools. Kill off any incentive for the to come to Indiana. Or will they just try and fundraise off it
He has two of his bills, HB1142 and HB1143 out of the House and heading to the Senate!

Spot on! And this is how Democrats win time and time again, too. They stick together and so should we.

I wish I could agree. I feel like the 2nd amendment issues is how we get stuck with bad politicians on the right.. They're 100% for it and do fight for it. But thats it. Theyll raise our taxes and let our governor shut the state down and do absolutely nothing. Theyll let big corporations buy up all the land and have the state help finance it. But if you say hey we wanna vote you out cause ya don't do anything else they say who will fight for your gun rights? Do ya wanna lose your rights we let you have ? we just let them hold the proverbial gun to our heads.

There have been and are places where there is no tolerance for criticism. Some of those places had/ have neighbors and friends who turn in to the authorities those who try to express their views. Some places just put social pressure on people who don't follow the current social trends. I don't want to live under an oppressive system or society like those. Expressing opposite views is healthy, but name calling and brow beating to get some to "toe the line" is not. If, in fact, the left and antis always stick together (which I seriously question) it is not a trait I would want to follow.
