If it was a couple weeks earlier, we wouldn’t miss anything.Awesome, to many trees between us I couldn't see it.
Flight radar is a great app! Always see something interesting on there.View attachment 348086
Caught a glimpse of a 747 freighter the other day. (Flightradar24)
Its cool to me, no where near as cool as a B52 though.
Had a B52 fly over the house today! Also a C17, KC135, and numerous fighters old and new, but this one is rare to see.
BUFFs are never in whisper mode like the black helicopters. Now the cruise missiles on the other hand…I know everybody jokes about watching out for the black helicopters but if you've got B52s coming after you...
We get several helicopters from Fairland around our place.I know everybody jokes about watching out for the black helicopters but if you've got B52s coming after you...
The Ohio river is a prime route for blackhawk helicopters from Ft Knox. I see them every night flying up and down the river. Sometimes they show on flight radar, but most times they don’t.We get several helicopters from Fairland around our place.
This was only the third time I’ve ever seen one in the real. One of the other times was maybe 25 years ago at Thunder, and once at the Dayton air show.I’ve never seen a B52 in real life much less flying over the house. That neat. Once, when were living in Bloomington, they had some WW2 warbirds on display out at the airport and I got to see a B17 fly close by.
Years back, I did a walking tour or Wright Patterson AFB Museum. Was really an eye opener as to the sheer sizes of real aircraft, tires, wingspan, engine cowling size, how tall the rear tails stood.I’ve never seen a B52 in real life much less flying over the house. I used to be able to identify the warbirds by sound, but in the last couple of decades you just don’t see or hear as many. I think the two coolest sounding aircraft I’ve heard were the F14 tomcat and the F4u corsair. Both have a sound that you never forget.Years back, I did a walking tour or Wright Patterson AFB Museum. Seen some others at Grissom, and also a few of the older WW2 Warbirds flying in and out of Valparaiso Airport. The engines noise are very loud. You can smell the AV fuel burning.
They are history and awesome.
Go visit and enjoy those sights. Worth the trip.
They have a B52 in the Wright Patterson Air museum in the building. There is something amazing when you walk under the 185 foot wingspan, see the mass of the thing and realize that it can fly over 600 MPH. It is pretty pricey, but the EAA gives sky rides in their B17. one of those one in a lifetime things.I’ve never seen a B52 in real life much less flying over the house. That neat.
