      WOW.... Thanks guys! I may have to do that test. So..... given that this stuff holds up to typical sub 50 cal rifles, Think it's worth anything???

      Colt 57 30-06. What is this?

      All, I have sold the 30-06 Colt 57 to a younger person who fell in love with it. Hmmm... Typically they are all about the black rifles. I'm hoping he plans on keeping it forever.

      Thanks guys..... I do have the typical Bass Pro purchased AR plate - and correct, the new stuff doesn't rust. I failed to mention that this plate is "antique", from the 1940's era. On another note, this plate was cut out using a cutting torch. As for the thickness -see below.

      Old Winchester? How about a 12 gauge Super X Model One? I bought it back in the early eighties. It's a typical field grade with an improved cylinder choke on a 26" barrel. They don't make 'em like this anymore as just about all steel on it was milled. Decent walnut and deep rich bluing too...

      How early is this S&W 686?

      Gents - I"m eyeballing a 686 and may purchase it..... It's a 4" stainless - that has no Hillary Hole and has the firing pin built into the hammer. Would this be the first gen for the L frame??? Any ideas for the year it was purchased? Action is super sweet too! Thanks in advance!

      Not sure if anyone posted Madison Outdoors. https://www.madisonoutdoors.net/ The people there (George and his mother Barb) are the greatest! No high pressure or time limits.       My buddy gave me a pack of Swenson recoil buffers for my CDP. I have never ever seen such a thing. Good, bad, indifferent? Really need 'em?

      Shotgun Show and Tell

      My nod goes to the Jollymons BAD ARSE 870.... That thing looks freakin awesome! Not to mention that those ol' 870's had a particular "ring" when ya cycle the action.... SWEET!
