      Sealing my deck AGAIN

I use Sherwin Williams deck stain. My deck gets 85% full sun and has to be power washed annually and re-stained every couple years. We always power wash and allow a week dry time re applying latex stain.

When to get kids involved in hunting?

As many have mentioned, depends on the interest and maturity of the child. My 20 yr old wants nothing to do with it. My 17 yr old would hunt and fish all day long (ala Hanks Williams Jr). I started them both on an H&R 44 Mag bull barrel youth model. Both went to Hunter's Education. Oldest...

New Marlin vs. New Winchester lever guns

I have 9 Winchester 94's (older ones) and 1 Henry. The Winchesters are much higher in fit and finish. Started collecting shortly after they discontinued production. They have doubled in price since then.

After Death: sale of your guns

I received some guns when my FIL passed away along with all his hunting stuff and tools. Almost 8 years later I've sold 3 guns, brought the hand guns home and the balance of long guns and ammo cans remain at the MIL's house in the gun room. I have my own collection that fills my safe on its...

Any tips for "live" trapping groundhogs?

Check the trap often. I once had one trapped in the morning. I saw it in the trap before going to work but didn't want to mess with it in my work clothes, so I waited until after work. It exerted itself so much trying to get out of the trap it expired by the time I got home from work that...

      DPMS AR10 Safety

It was charged yesterday while out shooting and wouldn't function/cycle. My son lubed it up and in cycles now. Will test function at the range next time out. The fitment on must be tight. Didn't have lube at the range.

      DPMS AR10 Safety

Quiz question: Why won't my safe/fire switch rotate between safety and fire. It is stuck in fire position. Not an AR (10/15) guru. Any direction you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

      My son says...

I had to read the first few posts to decipher what a poverty pony actually was a reference to. I have one poverty pony plus a PSA full lower put back. Next run-up to the election will begin shortly. Currently running PSA and Remington lowers.

Gear advice for newbie deer hunter

Buy the best warm clothing and boots you can afford since you are planning hunting during firearms. If you are cold, you will move more and have less a pleasurable experience. Carry your hunting clothing and boots in a tote in the back of the vehicle away from human odor. Makes great year...
