      Thanks for the heads up on the dowel rod. I knew there was one in there (I think most shotguns come with them), but was surprised that it was a full length one. I thought they usually were cut to allow only 3 or 5 rounds -depending on the state - to be loaded.
      I've not had a chance to shoot it yet - who'd want to in this cold! - but hopefully I'll be able to soon.

      Dave - forgot to mention that there's a dowel inside the magazine of that gun that will not allow you to load shells in. i thought something was wrong with it at first but found it mentioned in the manual. if you remove the barrel and poke your finger in the magazine from the bottom, where you'd load the shells, it'll push the dowel out the end a little and you can pull it the rest of the way out. Must be something to do with it being a youth gun and limiting it to one shot. Hope you enjoy it.
