      Hog Hunting Recommendations

You need to buy an out of state 5 day hunting tag to hunt hogs. It covers exotics also. There may be an open season, but Texas still charges for it. The last one I bought was $40.

      Hog Hunting Recommendations

I've had a lot of fun hunting hogs in East Texas as well as around Junction in the hill country. Costs are about the same. When its hot (during the summer) the hogs mainly move at night. Fall and winter are the best times. You will end up hunting over a feeder or water hole. Take enough gun...

      your dream hunt

I would be interested in taking my two boys (too young right now) on an elk hunt. Wall tents, pack in hunt in the Rockies. Don't care if we see anything, just quality hunting time with family.

New .223 rifle with 1:8 twist... "best ammo"?

In my limited experience, 69 and heavier work well for the 1-8 twist rate.

      Repairing gun stocks without refinishing?

Just make sure not to clamp too hard and push all of the glue back out of the joint you are trying to repair. Been there, done that.

      1903 - 1903a3

OK, here goes. What the CMP quote said is the best advice I have seen in this post. The low number guns were heat treated by visual reference. Some of the recievers were "over" hardened. This and other circumstances are what caused the failures. Any high number '03 is just fine to shoot...

      Who's muzzleloader hunt'n ?

Yup, count me in. If the weather is nasty I use a Knight .45 DISC. If it is nice, then I use a couple of T/C rifles. One is a White Mountain Carbine in .54 or a Renegade in .50.

City of Houston tells pastors to turn over sermons

Sad and unfortunate. Once again the minority is making the majority wrong.

If new caliber laws pass for Deer Season, what will you use next year?

M70 in .30-06 or .243, or Ruger M77 in .270. Actually I might just rotate and take a different classic deer rifle each day of the season. Hmmmm

      .223 trim length to 1.740?

Just trim the long ones to 1.750 and don't worry about the shorts ones. They will stretch so you can trim them later.

      Black bear hunting

Actually there are bears south of the bridge in Michigan. The bear hunting units go about as far south as Mt Pleasant.
