I’m not sure how to feel about this one. It certainly sounds like gross negligence on the gun owners side. As gun owners, we need to be more responsible than this.
I’ll go against the grain and recommend the Taurus spectrum. It’s ugly as can be, but for me it’s very ergonomic and accurate. It’s also very affordable. Mine has been 100% reliable using quality ammo. I struggled with light primer strikes using steel case Tula.

I don’t disagree with you there. With the possible exception being something like 32acp or 380acp, where modern ammo can make them much more effective than they were in the past.
