      Firearms Debt

That's a good point, Archer; and one that's not talked about as often as buying stuff. Waking up each morning and going to sleep each evening with oppressive debt hanging over us is, indeed, a form of self-victimization. No one likes to feel like a victim, and in fact there are euphemisms and...

      Top Ten 9mm pistols

Page after page after page of 'Top Ten 9mm Pistols,' and only ONE mention of the SIG P210. To make up for that, here: (Of course, none of those are mine… but maybe one day.) :yesway:

Got a couple new guns this weekend....

You had a super cool weekend, for sure! Congratulations!

      revolver vs. semi auto

Excellent analysis here. Particularly, the point about the rounded shape of a revolver (and its concealability) is something which is easily dismissed until you appreciate it in action.

      Doctors asking about my guns?

actaeon277, that's a good question... and I don't know exactly. But I'll guess that the medical community asks about firearms as a sort of child-related risk factor simply because the relatively small number of firearm deaths involving children are disproportionately (and sensationally, often)...

      Doctors asking about my guns?

Mcolford, exactly. I'd like to think that the questions just get the wheels turning, as you say, about child safety in the home, but without the parents having to give some kind of detailed, quantified, reply. Believe me, I value my discretion and privacy a lot - like many of you.

      Doctors asking about my guns?

There have been enough child deaths involving firearms that this question, unfortunately, is relevant. It may only be relevant in an infinitesimally small number of cases, but of course how are doctors supposed to divine which gun owners are reckless and clueless, and which are responsible...

      omg I messed up

Dude, those are serious warning signs that things may only get worse. I'd forget about some of that magazine-sounding advice and really think carefully about your situation. (Now that you've hooked some of us, of course you're now obliged to keep us posted!)

      omg I messed up

That'd be a deal breaker for me… sorry to say that. But yeah, there should've been a thorough understanding about things like this. Good luck.

      Blue Creek Conservation Club

OP, as others have said, malicious disregard for club property, unfortunately, is a problem for many ranges - whether public, private or by some other form of membership. Where I shoot, I can promise you that if I saw what you described, as you described it -- with shooters willfully...

Worst new gun you have owned

Every time one of these threads comes up, I post the same POS gun I bought. Kel Tec .32 (Now, having said that, I should point out that I bought one of the first P32 models they produced, and it's possible that subsequent models have improved. But I'll tell you, for me the damage is...

Oct. '12 1500 - Jeep Rubicon broken into Friday

+1 And getting zero sympathetic understanding about your unused table fees does feel like insult to injury, I'm sure. Surely the show's take can afford to give back to one of its vendors out of recognition that you were faultless - and in fact, only trying to follow their own parking...

      .22 plinker optics

Just as another data point, I've been happy with a FM Optics (I think it's called) red dot sight which I picked up from the good folks at Bradis. The price was well under a hundred bucks (that's all I could afford at the time). I've been using that sight on a rimfire pistol -- frequently --...

Leave It Holstered, aka "Stop Touching It!"

Wherever I am 20 years from now, if I should happen to randomly hear the expression 'coon finger,' I will think of you, sir. :ingo:

Oct. '12 1500 - Visitors to the INGO Table at the Indy1500 Gun Show

I stopped by the table Friday.. didn't see a target to sign. I did enjoy meeting SmileDocHill. LoveMyWoods was on his cell.. or I would've introduced myself. I bumped into a couple of other MCFG regulars. And over the years, I've gotten to know several of the vendors. There are a lot of...
