Two weekends ago Dicks in Avon had one but they wanted $350 plus tax. I picked mine up over the Internet, had it shipped to Fort Liberty in Avon and still came out less than what Dicks wanted.
Only thing I didn't like about mine was the front sight, just couldn't see it in certain...
Amazon.com I do a lot of shopping around, tech and price compare, then see if somone local can price match.
My shotgun scope isn't a short one 12", I've got an older Nikon Slughunter 3x9x40 BDC200.
Couldn't find a scope I liked that was short enough to fit in the bag mounted so I ordered one that I did like, Bushnell tactical type 3x9x40 with a set of Warne quick detach rings. I've used these rings before and they are pretty reliable for keeping zeroed.
Thanks for the info nipprdog. I was just about to order a scope and didn't even consider the length until I read your post. I have a Bushnell 3x9 on my other rifle which is 13" long, that should have clued me in.
Now that's funny....:):
I once owned a Caspian frame and slide gun. I can't recall the builder. Loved how it felt and shot. I have a puddle of drool to clean up now.
You sound like me, I feel the same way and I've told many of shop owners they must be smoking some good stuff if they think someone is going to pay retail for used. They get bent out of shape and I walk out.
I've also found that a lot of the gun show retailers are getting the same way.
I didn't see this thread until earlier today. Then seen that there's a few others about these TDs. I heard about it from a friend and found no one had one in the area so found one online for 299.00 Had it shipped to Fort Liberty Firearms in Avon, great bunch of guys.
So far the only thing...
I picked mine up on Friday, haven't had a chance to shoot it but will be replacing the sights with the Williams. I had a standard 10/22 a long time ago which was a 22 magnum. I've always missed that gun and now I got something close enough.
That's one hell of a deal.... And again welcome to the Colt 1911 club. I've got my Defender in the shop getting throated for hollow point shooting. Once I get it back the 70 series Commander is going in to get some TLC. Well over 7000 rounds just from me, don't know what the first owner...
Colt Combat Commander .45 70 series, vertical holster. Just picked up a Colt Defender .45 to replace the Commander for carry. More then likely inside the waist band.
I'm not a fan of the Glock but that's pretty much a given with most that like the 1911. To me the Glocks seem cheap and bulky. Granted they are much cheaper than any 1911 and seem to be very reliable.
You've made a good choice going with the Kimber though. You can't beat a true custom...
Great pick. Used the P226 in the military, 9mm and it was so much better than the Berretta. I was so pissed back when they had us dump the 1911 45s for the Berretta but when they set us up with the P226 my feelings where hurt as much. For a 1911 type of guy if I had spare money for another gun...
