      Armed Citizens' Legal Defense Network

I joined last year and have been very impressed. I renewed my membership and received the 3 DVD's in the mail. I was telling my wife that I wondered why they would send me the same DVD's and she pointed out that these 3 were different than the ones I received last year. What a great surprise! I...

      Problems with Remington 870

OMG! I can't believe it. My refund finally arrived in the mail today!!!! I know it's only taken about 5 months. I can't believe how quickly it came!! Okay, enough being a smart ass. Seriously, I'm finally happy to have received my money. This was a partial reimbursement for what I replaced it...

      Problems with Remington 870

I thank you for all the support. Something strange happened. I actually got a call back from a supervisor! She said that she got my message and was going to look into it and call me back. So here we go again (or so I thought). She called me back in a couple of hours and said that my request...

      Sniper rifles

I bought a Savage 116 in .30-06 at the 1500 last year. I handload and with my recepie, using a bipod on a bench, I can put 5 shots through damn near the same hole at 100 yards. At 200, all are within a 2 inch circle. Considering I paid $500, I'm very pleased.

      Anyone shot a Savage Axis?

My girlfriend has one in .223 and loves it. Although it has taken a while to find the right load for it (IMR4895 seems to work best in hers), it now shoots very tight groups. We have several other Savage rifles and are extremely happy with all of them. I don't think you could find a better...

      Problems with Remington 870

I bought it from Dick's. I do have a repair number that they can pull up my file easily every time I call. It's always "Yep, I see everything here. Let me check on that and I'll call you back" EVERY TIME! I would check the trigger expect I haven't seen the gun since September. Apparently...

      Problems with Remington 870

So, here is an update on my 870. I sent it back in for a refund. They have had the shotgun since the end of September. I have kept calling and dealing with different representatives. I am told that they are working on it. Each rep has given me their extension. When I call back to check on my...

      Good Gunsmith for night sights

I am wanting to get night sights put on my Springfield XD9. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to take my handgun? Has anyone else had night sights installed? I live in Lafayette, but would be willing to drive some to make sure it's done right. I love my gun and would hate for...

M1 Garand- What can I expect?

I bought a service grade from CMP and the rifle that arrived was MUCH nicer than I was expecting. Shoots great too! Came with the CMP birch stock that many do not like (I personally like mine). I think you will be happy with a CMP purchase. For my first one, I got one built in 1953 because I...

TSA airport screeners stop teen with handgun design on pocketbook

Let me tell you a story. I flew from Indy to Orlando 2 weeks ago. I had a cast on my right hand. At Indy, they had me step aside and ran a paper over my cast and put it into a machine to check for explosive residue. No problem and only took about a minute extra. Coming back was a whole...

Gun shops in Lafayette open Sunday?

Applied Ballistics is open on Sundays. Not sure about some of the others. I'm pretty sure Four Guns is closed.

      Problems with Remington 870

Just thought I would update everyone on what has happened with my shotgun. I sent it to the nearest Remington repair center. Remember, this gun was new and only taken out to fire a couple of times. Looked just like out of the box. They had it back to me in a week. I opened the box and the first...

      Reloading for Shotgun

Can you get those claybuster wads at Indiana Gun Club? I will be making a trip down there this weekend to get some reloading consumables. Any recommendation on shot to get there? We went out again last night and tried some reloaded shells from a friend and I think I will be loading 7/8oz for...

      Reloading for Shotgun

My girlfriend and I are starting to get in to skeet shooting. We are each using our Remington 870 express (one 12 ga and the other 20 ga). We have decided to start reloading our own shells and purchased a Lee Load All 2. We are new to reloading shotgun shells, but have been reloading rifle...

It is an express model. I just shipped it off to Remington yesterday to have it looked at.

      Problems with Remington 870

I don't think it's the safety. I would agree that it's probably the action not closing. I don't think that I should have to slam it forward as hard as I can to get it to work. Some of the guys I was skeet shooting with took a look at the gun and said that something was definetely wrong with it.
