I bought this setup NEW for a hunting trip last fall. It served me well taking a black bear at 200 yards. It only has 45 rounds...
Savage Stevens .308 grey synthetic stock with scope. It has a small scratch in buttstock from a successful bear hunt. Here are the prices I paid:
Rifle = $375.83
400 rounds (2 sealed battle packs) = $140 each
I also have some partial boxes of target/hunting ammo I'll throw in.
Asking $600...
I apologize if this is a repeat thread. I searched but couldn't find any recent activity. I don't want to start a false alarm but a small gunshop owner told me the lifetime carry permits were going away on June 1st. Can anyone confirm this?
Have been looking at the top .308 semi rifles (M1A, L1A1, FAL, AR10, etc) and was wondering which is best in standard configuration when it comes to recoil?
I purchased a Savage Stevens .308 NEW earlier his year. I went to trade it and local gun shop said the stock looked like it had been modified b/c the barrel channel gap. There is maybe a 3/16" gap between barrel and stock. Is this normal?
Already learning a lot on the site. Thanks to all those who are posting. I'm a .308 / .45 kinda guy. Like to hunt out west and the .223 / 9 mm aren't recommended in bear country. Killed a black bear this fall.
