Gone 'home-brew' on my case lube... Lanolin and 99% isopropyl alcohol.

I started using lanolin/Heet shortly after I started reloading for my AR. I use a 1:12 dilution, reason is I tend to over spray :) it's crucial to allow at least 20 some minutes drying time before sizing. it works perfect for me and is definitely economical. For lanolin sources try Whole...

Drill mounted case trimmers for .308

I chose the Little Crow WFT in 223. It's fast, accurate and brain dead simple. I've just started reloading 223 so I also did my research on trimmers. YMMV but, you get what you pay for.

      CFE Pistol Powder Chrono results / 9mm & .45acp

I also like CFE Pistol powder. It has the lowest burn rate of all the powders I've tried. I settled on 4.2gr using Berrys 147gr RN. Chrono was 887 average out of a 3" barrel. Very manageable recoil. I'd like to find some more of it.

First malfunction since I started reloading.

This has happened to me also. I cast with a Lee six cavity mold. there are slight but measurable differences in some of the cavities. I was seating the bullets just off the lands and that meant sometimes the area past the ogive would interfere in the lands. You can do as I did: Seat the...

      Opinions on Different Lead Melters

I got the tank filled on my way home from work. Fired up the burner to melt some range lead. Oh boy, it roars like a small jet now. It only took 15 minutes to melt [/IMG][/IMG]

      Opinions on Different Lead Melters

After updating my beneficiary list, I lit one of the furnaces. It works. Tank was almost empty though. After about ten minutes the tank was empty. I'll find a place to refill the tank and try it again when I get home.

      Opinions on Different Lead Melters

I just got home an hour ago with two (2) old plumbers furnaces with tanks, complete with pots and ladles. they still have some propane in the tanks so, does anybody know how these are ignited? My thought is to open the valve some and light it, then adjust the flame. Oh, and I have good health...

Loading .45 ACP for first time...

Well, I'm still the novice with two years of handloading. I use the barrel as a caliber gauge since I cast my boolits as well. The bullet profile will affect the OAL. Mine for example, are cast LTC, 230gr with 8.0gr of #5 set to an OAL 1.20. These work fine in my Colt 1911 (old, not -A1)...

      Opinions on Different Lead Melters

I agree with you Leadeye. I've melted plenty of lead over a hot bed of wood coals. It just takes time to start the fire and wait for the hot coals. Also, I use the wood ash for flux. The propane route is just the lazy side of me.

      Opinions on Different Lead Melters

I currently use a Harbor Freight propane burner/stove to melt lead with. It works fine but it's slow and on breezy or windy days the flame can get blown out. I've considered a turkey fryer base. I also have a line on an old plumbers furnace that mounts atop a propane cylinder. I'm wondering...

I really want to replace my Glock sights.

The model 26 is my EDC. It's also what I use for competition, short sight radius and all. I guess my issue is the slop of the rear sight notch. In a defensive situation I point and shoot. Currently getting an accurate sight picture is a 'hit or miss" kind of thing. My hope is to lessen the...

I really want to replace my Glock sights.

I have tried to work with the stock sights on my G3 model 26 for two years. I give up. there are dozens of after market sights out there, they are no doubt better than stock. I really don't need glow in the dark, laser range finding, tactical feed back, micro chip compatible sights. I also...

      Latest Gun Interest- Tokarev TTC-30

I'm considering getting a Tokarev TTC-30 7.62x25mm. They sound like an impressive handgun. So, I'm looking for opinions-good, bad, ugly, whatever. I'll start reloading this caliber if I get one. Any issues in reloading this? I'm guessing brass might be a problem, dunno. let's hear it!

Low Recoil CLEAN load for 9mm LRN

The weekend is supposed to be nice so I'll break out the chrony and try my other two powders- Unique and Titegroup. It's catch as catch can finding powders these days. I wish I could find some Clays, that worked good for my bullets and barrel. I cast a .358 125gr LFN but my dies hang up on...
