My dad has never purchased a gun before either, I went home to visit last week and he purchased a shotgun, a glock 19, somehow got a hold of a Ruger LC9, and a Ruger 10/22 all nicely placed in a Liberty safe... all of which he has gotten since xmas
My problem is there's nothing available. Look how many threads start out with so and so has 223 or 7.62x39 ammo in stock and less than 2 hours later someone comments "sold out".
A few years ago I started to really get into shooting, and began purchasing a few firearms here and there. I bought a Ruger P97 about 10 years ago, but would only shoot one or twice a year so ammo cost was never really an issue. I got really into the hobby awhile back and began to hear rumors...
I think that's a pretty legit question for a newbie. I get you guys all get upset when people join just to post their stuff on the classifieds but chill out, even if that's the case maybe they'll post some quality stuff at a decent price.
Honestly, If people on here used the search function for everything you would be looking at the same 80 threads every day. Maybe cut the newbie a little slack?
PMC is usually the cheapest brass cased ammo I have found. Cabelas runs specials a lot with this and you can pick some at a decent...
No prob! Most people that run steel don't have any issues unless they fire brass directly after firing a couple hundred rounds of steel, or just don't clean the gun. From what I've read and heard "not experienced personally" the coating they use on the steel builds up inside the barrel and...
Del-ton, Olympic, DPMS... just to name a few.... I'll do some more research for you if you'd like... Ruger however does not have this policy in place, neither does my sig sauer... just a heads up, read the manual because more and more companies are switching to this policy.
Look at most high end AR platform warranties. In most cases it states that if you use steel case it voids the warranty. If you can tell a gun has been ran with steel over brass by looking at it, obviously it has some, even if minor adverse effects if the gun companies are telling people not to...
You can find an xd compact for 399-425 new with no night sights, but a gen 4 glock I haven't seen new for under 525... I'd say you'd be better off to start with the glock and if you don't like it, sell it and buy a new XD and put night sights on it yourself and it shouldn't be much of a price...
Most of the people that like Ed are the 2% he hasn't screwed over, well I should say screwed over yet, and the other guy that joined about 2 months ago, talked like they were dating and never posted again...
