1st CCW - err on the side of larger or smaller?

I have carried a few different guns, but I just got a S&W 9MM Shield and it is a great carrying IWB.

      Ruger lcp

The LCP is great for carrying in your pocket or you can attach a small belt clip to it. But that being said it is brutal on the hand when shooting it at the range.

      bersa .380

I had a Bersa .380 CC and regret the day I sold it. It was probably the most accurate handgun I have ever shot.

      S&W Shield In Stock NWI

I just bought a 9MM Shield at Blythe's in Griffith. They said that had quite a few in stock. Paid retail $449. 5/11/12.:rockwoot:

      S&W Shield Review

Great review. I actually like the fact that it has the thumb safety and feel more comfortable carrying with a round in the chamber.

Looking to buy a Sig Ultra 1911

You might want to look at a thread I started yesterday about Sig and Kimber 4" 1911s. https://www.indianagunowners.com/forums/handguns/211008-sig_1911_compact_rcs_4_or_kimber_compact_cdp_ii.html

Sig 1911 Compact RCS 4" or Kimber Compact CDP II

A few people have mentioned the finish on the Kimber being an issue. Is that an isolated issue or is it a common problem? I am looking at the two tone model? Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!

Sig 1911 Compact RCS 4" or Kimber Compact CDP II

NHT3, why would Kimber be your choice?

Sig 1911 Compact RCS 4" or Kimber Compact CDP II

I am looking at Compact 1911s, specifically the Sig 1911 Compact Two Tone RCS 4" or Kimber Compact Two Tone CDP II. I can get a new Sig for $860 with their Lifetime warranty or I can get a used but never fired Kimber for $800 and no warranty. I am looking for advice on which gun to purchase...

      S&W 9mm Sigma

I had a Sigma 9mm and it was the first gun I sold. It was not very accurate and it jammed when feeding rounds quite a few times. I traded when I bought my XD9.

      Bersa 380

I had a Bersa CC .380 with the nickel finish. Most accurate gun I have ever owned and very reliable. Fit will in an inside the pants clip on holster.

      looking for a 380

I have had both a Bersa CC .380 and a Ruger LCP. The Bersa is fun to shoot at the range, very accurate and reliable, but it weighs a lot more and is a lot bigger than the LCP. The LCP is a real easy carry, even in the front pocket of your jeans. It is reliable when shooting, but it is not a...

Ranges To Shoot an AR In NWI

Thanks for all the responses. It looks like I will have to drive a distance if I am going to shoot in IN. As I am right near the IL border I will see if there is anything close in IL.

Ranges To Shoot an AR In NWI

Are than any ranges in NWI that I can shoot an AR? I am in the Schererville area, so IL would work also.:ar15:

Thinking about getting a mouse gun.

The Bersa .380 concealed carry is a great midsize .380. I had a stainless Bersa that I used for range qualification for my Texas Concealed Carry permit and it was dead on accurate. I put quite a few rounds through the gun and it never failed.

      pocket gun

I have a Ruger 380 LCP which can be found on sale for about $300. Great little gun that will fit in your pocket and weighs around 10 oz. Gander Mountain sells a 380 Hellcat made by I.O. that sells for $229. The Hellcat looks just like the Ruger LCP and it is made in the USA. 9.4 oz with an...
