LOL - EVERYTHING has been affected. I went to WalMart the other day and was going to pick up some 12 gauge shells for busting clays. They were out of bird shot - BIRD SHOT! They had deer slugs and turkey loads for 12 gauge. They did have some 20 gauge bird shot, but that was it.
Oh yeah, I...
I bought some steel cased ammo (3 boxes?) in my Taurus Pt 111. I had never had a problem with anything I fed it, until I shot some steel cased ammo (not Tula). It had failure to feeds, failure to ejects, and then the extractor broke and went flying.
Now the only thing I feed steel cased is...
+1 :yesway:
Although I haven't taken a deer with my 4" Taurus yet, I have taken a couple of nice bucks with my Marlin 1894c in .357. Gotta love the companion pieces!
Don STILL doesn't want to make any money, he just loves to sell guns.
I recently had to educate a couple of people at work about Don Davis, and the fact that he is #4 in the nation on the FBI list of gun sales later used in crimes.
I've only been delayed once ... and I was buying a Henry .22. :dunno:
It was the weekend after Christmas several years ago, and they were very busy. The gun store employee was on hold probably 10 minutes, then I got delayed right away.
Goober, you are correct ... and so is sloughfoot. ;)
You cannot carry at the state fair, but nothing says you can't carry on the state fair grounds. After, it is where the 1500 is held.
Owen-Putnam, Morgan Monroe, the new Deer Creek FWA (it may be draw only)... You can also apply for the state park hunts.
DNR lists the public lands here: DNR: Where to Hunt
I had on in my backyard a couple of years ago, right after we moved into our house. I grabbed a rifle went upstairs and took a shot at him while he was trotting away. Missed. a few feet later he stopped and gave me another shot. This time he spun and dropped. When I went out there...
Let someone else bring up the topic, and treat it as discussion. No one is going to change the others opinion. Realize that and engage it a CIVIL debate. Play devils advocate from time to time. If emotions begin to get involved, politely excuse yourself from the conversation.
1) "Conservation Club" sounds better than "Gun Club". Usually the sportsmen (and women) that are members are versed in conservation methods
2) A lead bullet is in an insoluble state, so unless you pick up a hand full of soil from the range and eat it, the lead bullet being there is irrelevant...
well...I bought my first wheel gun when I was in my 20s, but I left that age bracket almost a decade ago. It was a Taurus 617, and it often still sees the light of day.
You're right autoloaders can jam too, but i would rate a higher probability of a jam occurring is a newbie short-shucking a pump.
How about a good old fashioned side-by-side double barrel shotgun, with extra rounds riding side-saddle? No jams there.
I agree on the autoloader. Everyone talks about the sound a pump action makes when racking a round, but no one ever seems to consider you have to physically work the action for every round. I have, and have seen, people short shuck a round and jam a pump shotgun while shooting clay pigeons...
