      Have you converted your S&W M&P 40/357 to 9mm?

My conversion barrel will be here in a few days - hopefully I can get out to the range next weekend to try it out. CDNN has ACT M&P magazines that get good reviews, so I'll try some of those out too and will report back here.

      Have you converted your S&W M&P 40/357 to 9mm?

After picking up a .40 caliber M&P and reading about how easy it is to convert to 9mm, I thought I'd see about what your experiences have been. It looks like this hasn't been a major topic of discussion here for years, so here's a chance to get a longer term range report if you've had your...

      WWII 1911 coming to market

All of the recent history of possible returns (like the Korean ones that have made the news over and over) haven't borne fruit. I suspect that this one will also fail - much to our collective chagrin. There's a nice recent post on the Garand Thumb blog from this week about it, and their take...

M&P 9mm Police Trades with 3 magazines on sale $328

I had a similar experience at MGE - the gun in the case was in terrible shape with what looked like rust on the night sights and it was generally pretty worn. I asked about what the general condition was, and Stephen offered to go back and get one in better condition. He came back with one with...

      Caldwell electronic hearing protection

I have a set of these, and the Howard Leight low profile earmuffs are definitely $20 better in my mind. I keep these for guests at the range, but prefer not to use them myself. If you can swing the extra - try the Howard Leights.

      BX-25 mag price inrease???

Cabelas still wants $25, and Midway is at $27 and change. It looks like the price isn't actually going up.

Amateur Radio License Testing - Free

A note for those who might be doing this - there's a great iPhone/iPad app called Ham Radio Exam (with - General, - Technician, etc) free in the app store by Roy Watson. It provides flash cards that will get you through the test - you can prep for and pass the Technician level in a week pretty...

      Is It Safe?

Check the manual. The original P95 manual says "No 9mm x 19 ammunition manufactured in accordance with NATO, U.S., SAAMI, or CIP standards is knownto be beyond the design limits or known not to function in these pistols." SAAMI provides +P details at...

CDNN sports, has anybody had any complaints or compliments?

I've always found them easy to deal with. Multiple orders, always shipped quickly and everything I ordered was correct. For what it is worth, I've never heard anything negative about them on any firearms or enthusiast forum.

Anyone know about firearms from the 1560s?

I lurk around both AA and MyArmoury as well and I'm a couple of bits away from finishing a suit of late 1400's plate - I'm there with you on how much fun it is to set a complete setup built. Good luck, and please post your musket or matchlock when you get it. Medieval gunpowder weapons aren't...

Anyone know about firearms from the 1560s?

If you're into this time period, you may find this site's black powder menu interesting. The folks over at myarmoury.com discuss handgonnes, arquebuses, and hackbuts. In 1560, you're at the end of the matchlock era and starting into wheel locks, and you're starting to see muskets take over, but...

      Prepper/Survival Forums

I've always found the Zombie Squad forums Zombie Squad to be a friendly place. Of note, some people take the zombie idea too far, but it's really just a preparedness forum with a theme.

2012 Holiday Tour of Some NW Indiana Gun Shops

There are two other stores I'd recommend if you're doing the rounds up here again sometime. 1. Granger Guns. Steve runs a small store, sort of hidden in the back of a low-slung shopping area. He has a much smaller selection than Midwest does, but he knows his stuff, he carries reloading...
