Are you adding any specific preps for Ebola?

Anyone buying respirators ie. n-95, n-100 also need to realize that they need to be professionally "fit tested", meaning a person goes through a process of putting on an isolation hood when a flavored mist is pumped in to ensure against leaks. Even after fit testing some peoples face will not...

To Flu Shot Or Not ???

This year one reason to get it in my opinion would be to limit overall exposure to hospitals in the coming months, caveat is always the shot and never the flu mist mostly because I always get a crazy sinus infection with the (live) mist.

Sleeping Bag for Bug Out Bag

I carry an Adventure Medical Kits SOL Escape Bivvy, breathable and windproof it works much better than just a Mylar blanket because it is a true mummy bag. Combine it with a ground pad to reduce conduction heat loss and you're set.

      Normalcy bias

Interesting article but what's with this sentence from the OP "An evolutionary reason for this response could be that paralysis gives an animal a better chance of surviving an attack; predators are less likely to eat prey that isn't struggling."

      Free EverStryke-Perma Match

So with reservation I ordered one of these and it did indeed come in today. It's cheap but not terrible, the Ferro rod portion is small but the set up doesn't need strong application. It has a plastic casing with a thin metal overlap on three sides. The portion that connects to the key chain is...

If you carry a NPA (Nasal Pharygneal Airway), what size do you carry?

You're thinking OPA(device placed in the mouth). Here is a quick article that is packed with information, as always all information is for personal knowledge and is not a substitute for professional training. http://theemtspot.com/2009/12/08/the-art-of-the-nasopharyngeal-airway/

If you carry a NPA (Nasal Pharygneal Airway), what size do you carry?

It was really just a curiosity, that set up does sound good to have as an immediately available blow out kit.

If you carry a NPA (Nasal Pharygneal Airway), what size do you carry?

Awesome job in your wife being trained as well, I unfortunately have not been able to convince mine yet.

If you carry a NPA (Nasal Pharygneal Airway), what size do you carry?

I have to disagree, an NPA can be a valuable airway management tool(there is a reason they are on every mandatory ambulance gear list) as with all things training is required but you can't completely dismiss it. Properly fitted it will protect an airway in an unconscious patient and will NOT...

      Name this accessory.

Looks like the medical kits we used to hang inside our Field Surgical tent. Do the rods connect together in any fashion to make an iv pole?

      Thermal Blankets

I really like my SOL escape Bivy, works well as a stand alone emergency blanket(mummy bag) or integrated with a sleeping bag. the escape is a little more expensive but the breathable fabric is a major advantage. AMAZON seems the best price.

      Life straw.

My thing concerning the life straw is that you don't get any protection from a virus, Instead I have been looking at a pure water-advanced or the personal filter straw(link below) but i haven't bought one yet. Amazon.com: Personal Water Filter Straw - Portable for Wilderness Camping & Survival...

I think I have a valid question this time...

I always keep in mind that the military can't even use Hollow point ammo and they are doing pretty good.
