      CCW for the ladies

I agree! This is how I was taught to do it and how I teach my daughter as well! Plus, if you are racking the slide this way, you are holding the gun closer to your body pushing down with the right while pulling up with the left. At least that's how I've been doing it. But, I keep one in the...

Although, I did tuck my holster in my boot yesterday and it would have been fine if I had not had on skinny jeans!!

      CCW for the ladies

I really haven't gotten that far yet since I probably won't be able to buy another one until summer or later. Probably polymer though. Maybe Glock 26...M&P...or springfield xds. Just thinking about it though.

      CCW for the ladies

Thanks and I do plan on getting to a range after Christmas. I do have smallish hands and I like the feel of the grip. I have 3 fingers that wrap the grip and then my pinky finger curls comfortably just under the base of the grip. For me, this seems very comfortable. Also, I think that since I...

      CCW for the ladies

To be honest, I have not had the opportunity to go out and shoot with this particular gun. However, I did shoot the same gun at the range before I decided to purchase it. I was totally fine with the recoil. Because the trigger pull is long, I remember at the range that I tend to wrap my first...

      CCW for the ladies

Well, just for my follow up since I am the OP of this great thread, I went ahead and pulled the trigger (bad pun) and got the little Ruger LCP 380. I've been carrying that sucker everywhere! I got an IWB holster and appendix carry. Sometimes, I have to admit, I just toss it in my purse. I'm glad...

      CCW for the ladies

I think that whatever it is, once you start firing, a bad guy is going to know you mean business. I would never even pull mine out unless I was ready to fire. I'm not threatening to shoot someone, I'm shooting someone! I hope you don't take that the wrong way! I am not wanting to shoot anyone...

      CCW for the ladies

Great feedback and a lot to think about still. At one time, I thought I would be okay with carrying in my purse, but when I was talking with a friend that trains for ccw in another state and told her this, she literally attacked me yelling "get your gun now!!!" The only way I even considered...

Ranges with rentals in or near Indy

What ranges in or near Indy rent handguns? I'm still looking into the "try before I buy" thing. Since I did some training the other day, I still feel the need to try a few more easily concealed guns. I've got BGF on my list to visit as they have a couple that I want to try.

Well, that was 7 different guns and one of them was the LCP which I fired twice.

For me, I was able to hit the target every time. Not only did I hit the target, but I think for my first time, I did quite well with the exception of missing a head shot. I paused between shots and would like to see how it would be to just fire, fire, fire.

      CCW for the ladies

I like that!! Thanks! Based on my shooting yesterday, I shot well with all the guns. I guess it was a bit overwhelming thinking back since it was my 1st time and now I can't really remember one from the other expect for the LCP being "comfortable" with regards to the idea of keeping it on my...

1st time at the range today with my daughter

We are really looking forward to going back. Our first time was great having someone there to work with us and to let us try out her guns. I will be making a purchase soon for my ccw and I have a piece of junk 380 that I can shoot now. I still would like to have the opportunity to try out some...

      CCW for the ladies

After shooting at the range yesterday, I had hoped to walk away with a sure idea of what I wanted to get for a ccw but now I'm just as undecided as before I went. I'm curious what other ladies carry. A couple of thoughts come to mind when I review my day. 1) That Ruger LCP would be so easy to...
