      Python Problems

      Who’s this Rick guy, anyway?

      Which sub $1000 1911?

Yep. It’s a different model number, then Commifornia sees it as a completely new gun. It’s really just a tactic to make it as difficult as possible to bring guns to market in Cali.

Looking to purchase a new 1911...

Neither. Remington has pretty terrible QC. For Sig, I’ve never understood these companies that feel the need to put external extractors on 1911s, but I guess it’s better than a keyhole lock on a revolver (I’m looking at you S&W, which does both).

      Which sub $1000 1911?

Colt is going to hold its value better than most anything under $1k. It’ll be a shooter, too. They aren’t mostly in-stock, but you can order from Hoosier Armory & pick up at the store. Here’s a sweet two-tone within your budget...

The New Colt Python will be revealed at SHOT Show 2020! Old vs. New

Directly from the Federal Trade Commission Website: ”The key word is "suggested." A dealer is free to set the retail price of the products it sells. A dealer can set the price at the MSRPor at a different price, as long as the dealer comes to that decision on its own. However, the manufacturer...

The New Colt Python will be revealed at SHOT Show 2020! Old vs. New

You are comparing apples to oranges. A Python made prior to 2020 has not been in production for quite some time, which makes it a collector piece which drives the value. Any way you look at though, it’s a USED gun. An LGS doesn’t have to be a Colt dealer to have these on the shelf & MSRP simply...

The New Colt Python will be revealed at SHOT Show 2020! Old vs. New

Panties in a bunch, there Ingomike? Lol  I’d rather them put it up for auction. Let the fools race to part ways with their money. Having a current production item sitting on your shelf with a price $500 above MSRP looks bad. There are plenty of LGS that have sold these new Pythons for...

The New Colt Python will be revealed at SHOT Show 2020! Old vs. New

Regarding these gun shops that are selling Pythons for over MSRP, there are a few ways to look at it. 1. More power to them if someone is willing to pay $500 over MSRP then have at it. 2. Seems pretty crappy that we finally get a Python at a pretty fair MSRP & the LGS are trying to price gouge...

The New Colt Python will be revealed at SHOT Show 2020! Old vs. New

Goldenwebb is a joker that can’t even safely handle a firearm. I don’t trust a word out of his mouth.

The New Colt Python will be revealed at SHOT Show 2020! Old vs. New

What strikes odd to me is that in both videos, both cylinders stopped turning, but then somehow they begin to work again & everything seems fine. I wonder if it’s a lack of lubrication issue, where the paw is sticking due to being too dry.

The New Colt Python will be revealed at SHOT Show 2020! Old vs. New

The Python is now available & can be purchased from your local stocking dealer. There is a nice breakdown video on Colt’s YouTube channel explaining the action. It sounds like the action may be different than the new King Cobra line. They discussed making the action more efficient by...

The New Colt Python will be revealed at SHOT Show 2020! Old vs. New

So, the street price looks to be around $1400. If that’s the case, I’m in. I have always wanted Python, but could never justify the $2k plus price it would take to get an original. Reason being is that I’d want to shoot it, a lot & if that sucker went out of time, there really isn’t anyone or...

The New Colt Python will be revealed at SHOT Show 2020! Old vs. New

Colt KNOWS they can’t screw this up. I have high expectations. The new King Cobra Target 4” has a better trigger, in both SA & DA right now out of the box than an S&W. It soaks up recoil very nicely even with the wood grips. The only drawback I see on it is the ejector rod. It isn’t long enough...

Anyone hear or or use Powder River Precision

I’ve shot an XDM with their trigger, back to back with an XDM bone stock. The PRP trigger is a huge improvement. I’m assuming you are buying a whole gun, so that’s a little different. I think they do really good work from what I’ve heard.

Smith and Wesson splitting from American Outdoors Brand

You will retain your stock in AO & receive stock in the new S&W as well.

      Best 1911 under $600

I was just summarizing what had been discussed earlier in this thread by others. I have no experience with any of these 1911s.

      Best 1911 under $600

Love, love, love my 1911s. I don’t have any current interest in a low end 1911. But, I am interested in knowing which low-end 1911s run decently. Never know, I might pick one up on a whim someday. Either way, I find this thread very interesting. So, it sounds like Ruger is pretty decent &...

      Gander Outdoor closing

Stopped by today. 20% off firearms, ammo & optics. 50% off everything else. Still some good guns & other stuff left, but are starting to thin out. Lots of people there for the middle of the day on a weekday. Gun counter was super busy. I’d imagine that they’ll be pretty cleaned out by the end...
