      If you need new hardware and can live with no SD card, I would do Google's Project Fi. You have to buy Google's phone for it though. But you only pay for the data you use, if you don't use it all they credit you.

      AR newb wants to install low profile gas block- any advice?

      I plan on keeping the A2 gas block and just cutting off the front sight when I get a free-float handguard. Should be low-profile enough, I'd look into that first. But I'm also a noob, interested to hear what everyone else thinks.

      Theres a deal going on now for the TP9 SF for $285, only comes with 10-round mags though, you can get 18 round mags for it. I'm trying to decide on whether to jump on that deal or wait for one with 18rnd mags to be $285, that's about the best price I've seen so far.

      Some things about the price: I see it online everywhere for $400 so $450 isn't a terrible price for an LGS (would be similar after shipping and transfer fee) but can be had on-sale for ~$300-$320 from the to time from multiple different websites.       If you're serious about needing to be always on, I would replace that laptop with a small-form-factor desktop asap, as laptops are not designed to take those kind of loads (their cooling specifically can be troublesome). It's unlikely the scaling was the issue unless it's a bug in your video...
