      WTS/WTT: T/C Contender frame + extras $300 Goshen

Contender handgun frame with everything in photo: selector rebuild kit from Bellm, new hammer spring (installed), Pachmayr Decelerator grip, factory wood grip and 12-14" forearm (can also be used on 10" barrels), socket head screws for forearm, factory grip bolt for wood grip. I got a G2...

      handgun hunting

I have yet to take deer with a handgun, but I will be taking out a 7TCU Contender out until I do. I have used the same model in 5.7x28 and a rimfire barrel or two to take some groundhogs. They are much easier to get in and out of the field, but take a lot more practice to shoot well.

      State Preemption question

What does 132.05 state? Is that a LEO exemption only? Does that refer to having a CCW permit? The ordinance about public meetings specifically applies to brandishing, displaying, etc. If the public meetings are held in the Minicipal Building, that is the ordinance relating to possessing them...

      WTB: T/C Contender parts

T/C Contender barrel (updated) Want a barrel and for T/C Contender in 32 S&W Long or 32 H&R Magnum. I am trying to put together a light plinking carbine for the truck to use at the range, farm, or camping. I would also consider a 38 Spcl, 357 Mag, 300 Whisper or Blackout, 7.62x25, 9mm, or 17HMR...

      Ft Wayne transfers?

Trading some parts to a guy in Ohio in return for a rifle. Looking for a great place in Ft Wayne to handle the transfer.

      New deer gun

I think it looks nice, but I prefer single shots and lever actions for my hunting. I currently use a T/C Contender in .357 Mag handgun. This limits the distance I can comfortably take shots, but that is part of the challenge for me. My search for next year will most likely be a lever in...

      New deer gun

Not my cup of tea, but looks good and handy. Do you have load ideas figured out?

      WTB: 32H&R Contender barrel

I prefer a round barrel, but will consider an octo if forend included.

Firearm for squirrel and other small game

      Spoken true RFC style.

Firearm for squirrel and other small game

Unless you are looking for a reason to get a new gun a 12ga is fine, especially if you already have one. Get the sights that snap onto the rib (one of the ways I used to hunt squirrel) and find exactly where it patterns. Then when you have a closer shot you can lead ahead of the squirrel and...

Firearm for squirrel and other small game

A 20ga or any 22LR will do you well. For scopes keep the power at 4x or lower for better field of view finding your quarry. I tried going back to a shotgun earlier this year for squirrels and hate it. I would rather stalk and wait for a safe shot than pick out pellets. I have used single...

      Lever Guns and scopes

If the lack of a load gate bothers you (they are normally not on rimfires anyway), get a Marlin. I had a Weaver K2.5 on my 44 Mag 1894 and really liked it. A compact fixed 4x or smaller would be what I would recommend. You could always go with a Skinner Sight to keep the slick look to the lever...

      357 Herrett?

I have a 2 MOA dot that is homeless right now. I intended to put it on the 357 Mag barrel I have eventually. It will either be there or on the carbine after load development is done.

      357 Herrett?

I have been to Tri-County and Pigeon River. Forget the Airstream, a stand isn't even on my radar. Even at PR, there are a few spots that could afford a shot over 150 yards in the woods if you had the means to effectively take it. I currently use a 10" 357 Magnum with a 2x scope. I need to work...

      357 Herrett?

I was thinking about 18", and I know the Mag can scream pretty good with that barrel length. It did in my H&R. I want to keep it with peep sights for now, but a 2.5x scope will be in the future I am sure. I am still thinking the Max with 180gr bullets will beat a Mag with 158 (can always shoot...

      357 Herrett?

That is what I want, and in a carbine length barrel. Do you happen to have any notes on your loads? Would like ideas for bullets to prep load info and work with before next season. I am not looking for a thump from a handgun. I also wanted to hear if I was okay to use it as a rifle on public...

      357 Herrett?

Would this potentially make a better public land round than a 44 Mag? Aside from the case forming and a few extra prep steps to reload, it looks like it may. Anybody using it? I have been thinking about a 357 Maximum, but just realized that it doesn't have to be a straight walled case. Brass is...

      .357 magnum offerings?

Get the die set, buy some plated or coated bullets in bulk, re-use .357 range brass or buy cheap, a pound or two of Titegroup or HP-38, and you are ready to roll. I shoot a lot of 158SWC and 148 BNWC loaded with the above powders in my T/C in Mag brass. Great accuracy and low recoil. For carry...

      Handgun deer cartridges

Two70, I agree with you that there are more powerful light recoiling cartridges. I also only have access to public land. I have taken deer in other states with such anemic cartridges as the .223 and 22 Hornet. It is about patience for the perfect shot, placement of that shot, and knowing the...
