      Grip Question

I posted something about this in another post but didn't get much feedback. Keep in mind that I am pretty new to this, so be kind (I can take heat but will fire back ). With my Beretta 92FS, it really bothers me to use a conventional grip with left thumb below slide under right thumb. It...

      Range time today

Aside from having fun, I feel that today has been my most "successful" day at the range as far as progress and improvement is concerned. Finally familiar and quite. comfortable with guns, my Baretta, and range etiquette, so I was able to pay closer attention to some basics. First was my grip...

      New toy

For Christmas the wife got me the conversion kit for my Beretta 92FS to take it from 9MM to 22LR. It's a simple slide exchange and takes about 30 seconds to do. Works awesome. I have only put about 200 rounds through it, but it seems perfect.

      Have a question

I picked up the Beretta 92FS a while back. Awesome gun. Also shooting a 22 bearcat revolver by Ruger. I'm pretty new to shooting. With both guns, at 20' I can pretty much keep 80% of my rounds in a 2.5" group (decent?). The other ones fly out to 4 or 5 inches, usually down and a little off...

      Bought a gun

Has been a while since I have posted on here. Have lurked but had a really busy, kind of crappy summer so not much to say. Anyway, the wife and I went to the range the other day and I finally bought a 9. Picked up a Beretta 92FS Inox. Love the way it shoots and looks, and seems to have a great...

      Crappy Ammo

Tried some different (cheaper) ammo today and learned my lesson. Tried some Tullammo in 38sp for the sp101. Hated it. $10 a box and certainly not worth the savings. Fired ok but the casings are steel and were really tough to eject. Could push them out just a bit and then had to pull each one...

      Thoughts on this gun?

Was looking at 1911s, but have come to realize that I will need to spend more than I am willing to get one that I would like. Was at the range yesterday and per the suggestions from you guys I rented a couple of full frame 9s, and I like the size and feel. Didn't like the polymer feel or weight...

      Considering a 1911

New to guns but I might already have the bug. Have only been shooting twice with my SP101 and bearcat, but thinking I might like a semi automatic. Thinking 9MM due to cost of ammo. I see that Glock is pretty much the "go to" for several great reasons, but at the risk of sounding silly I just...

      Revolver Cleaning

So apparently I'm a clean after every trip to the range kind of guy. SP101 and a Ruger 22 Bearcat I have seen where people always do 100% cleaning, and those that rarely clean. I have been spraying down with CLP, using a nylon brush on the frame, and just running some patches down the barrell...

      SP101 Question

2nd time at the range yesterday and I realized that I prefer to shoot 38SP as opposed to 357 rounds. Just not as abrasive. Does that make me a wimp? When I hold the gun it feels like the grip might be small (short) for my hand. When i grip it high as i believe i am supposed to, the trigger...

      Range time

Not that I am looking to compete, but I am by nature fairly competitive and like to be good at things that I do. When I go to the range, what should I be focusing on in order to improve? I like to participate in my hobbies with purpose. Do people have certain routines that they practice? Do you...

      New Guy

New to this forum and new to guns. I am from Washington state, but this is the first site I found that looked interesting, and active. Hope that's ok. An elderly neighbor gave me a couple of revolvers and I think I am already hooked. Have only been to the range once, but I am pretty sure that...
