Received a response from Sen. Lanane. I wrote in support of SB 097, and he replied:
Thank you for your recent email informing me of your support for your Second Amendment right to bear arms and your desire to see no new restrictions placed on responsible gun owners. I appreciate you taking...

Stopped in about 5pm today. Decent selection of handguns - and prices seemed ok. Nice guy at the counter. Owner wasn't in.
I think you can deal with them a bit. I'm going to try and make it back on Sat.
you people need to read more
It is so terribly sad and disheartening to read through these comments.
Those of you that attacked the author of that letter just "didn't get it". And still don't, it seems. :n00b:
wikipedia tells me the following about what the WWII drafts:
10 million were drafted!
" all men from 18 to 65 to register with those aged 18 to 45 being immediately liable for induction. Service commitments for inductees were set at the length of the war plus six months. As manpower need...
I haven't thought about this in 20 years, when I had to fill that card out. Have no idea how I would prove I did it - don't remember or have a record of a number assigned to me.
I consulted all-knowing wikipedia to learn how the laws have changed over the years.
Selective Service System -...
Hmmm. I read it as the "any person..." statement to start a new category of person, much like last part about "any person defending his life, etc...". Obviously anyone defending their life does not need to meet the military companies or chief of police standards before engaging in...
I live in Muncie. I would like to set up a basic bb gun range in my backyard to start shooting with my daughter (e.g., with a Red Ryder).
To my dismay, I looked up the Muncie city code and it appears that no BB, air rifle, pellet, or even sling shots may be shot in the city. But, I read...
While we are dreaming, a nice indoor range and training facility would be a wonderful addition to the new gun shop!
By the way, MC Sports in Muncie has a decent selection and runs sales pretty regularly with decent prices. When I've been there, the guys that work the counter are pretty nice...
BigGuy,
I believe the next meeting is Tuesday May 17 at 7pm. I haven't attended a meeting since I first joined, because I'm usually working Tues nights.
It is pretty cheap...I think it will be a little over $100 (maybe 125) your first year, because of a one time initiation fee or something...
So, I've got my eye on getting either a Ruger P512MKIII or a P512MKIIIRP.
The later is with the "replaceable panels".

Are the replaceable panels worth it? I haven't been able to handle one yet. They certainly do look nicer.
Thanks....
oops...just saw that Titanium_Frost beat me with a previous post.
And, Bill of Rights correctly provided this link to the actual bill:
Bill Text - 112th Congress (2011-2012) - THOMAS (Library of Congress)

What does everyone think? Will it pass this time?
Although I understand the argument against this (e.g., states rights, constitutional carry), I think most of us will be for this. But, I'm curious about the...

EdBean-
I'm not aware of any actual official rule against rifle/pistol related campus groups at BSU. Thus, it may be possible (again) if there is strong (but respectful), devoted, and clear thinking student leadership.

Good info. I always CC, for professional reasons as this town is too small, always running into people I know - guess where I work :-)
I rarely see OC in Muncie, so I've wondered about it.
