      You’re comparing different shotguns with different fitment instead of comparing 12 vs 20ga. A true test would be same model gun, one in 20ga and one in 12ga. I can’t argue someone’s feelings or perceptions as they are non quantifiable. It kicks more like a .410

      My son shoots a Mossberg .410 and it’s impossible to find shells for. Last box I picked up were $20 for target loads. It’s a nice scattergun and it fits him well, but insanely expensive to feed.

      Do you have multiple ARs? If so swap the firing pin or BCG and see if that fixes it. I had a firing pin that got warn down and no longer would fire the gun reliably. However, it would leave the brass dimpled. Probably not the fox, but one more check to rule things out.

      Congrats. Common sense would say that once they’ve approved one Form 4 for an individual I’m the rest should be instantaneous, but we are dealing with bureaucracy and a lettered agency.

      I sold a gun and it got lost for a while in shipment to an FFL. The only thing I can think of that would be worse is an NFA item.

      Rifle mass is taken into account. The equation is E=1/2 MV squared. With M being the mass of the rifle and V being the recoil velocity. In the two loads I gave in example above, the 12ga would have to be approximately 50% heavier than the 20ga to equal the same felt recoil. Play around with...

      Sure don’t and she’s picked out some solid guns that I would have never thought she’d like. Walther PPQ, CZ Shadow 2, Springfield Hellcat, Sig Cross and a Christensen 6.5 PRC. The only one that she ever changed her mind about was the Christensen.

      To the original question, my wife shoots a Berretta Silver Mallard and loves it. I’d suggest letting her and your kids go to a store and see what fits them best. When I do this, my wife never picks the rifle/pistol/shotgun I have in mind.

      I didn’t know about the 20ga myth. There’s discernible difference between my wife’s 20ga and any of my 12s. You can calculate the free recoil energy between the two and they are not the same. 12 ga - 23.2ft/lbs 20 ga - 15.4ft/lbs If you want to check my math: Winchter 12 ga, 1 1/8oz, 71/2...
