      Need a smith

I need a gunsmith near Indianapolis far east side to swap barrels on my (repro) Colt SAA. Want to replace a 4-3/4 with a 5-1/2. I have the barrel. Any takers or suggestions?

Can She Take Away America’s Guns? Miss Sloane Gives It a Try

I had only seen bits of the commercials for the film until last nite. When she stated that anybody can buy an "assault" rifle without a background check, I knew the story and swore off ever seeing the film. So did my wife.

Ah... the old days when a fast draw and a six shooter made you a TV star

When I was a kid I listened to "Gunsmoke" on the radio. Some years later it was moved to television. My most enduring memory of the first TV show is Matt getting shot in the chest. I knew then that it would be a different kind of western.

      Point Blank in Greenwood

Went to the Greenwood store a couple of weeks ago with my son, who wanted to buy his first pistol. Was quite impressed with the young lady who served us, as, when my son wanted to look at a pisto, she took it out of the display case, dropped the mag, reinserted it, and racked the slide before...

      storage

I hope this is the right place for this. A few years ago I bought some small cardboard storage boxes for 9mm at a gun show in Indy. They are designed to hold 50 pcs without any kind of a tray, but the cartridges could stand upright inside. The ends folded over and tucked in 3 rows from each...

What Rare Guns Have You Shot?

I own and shoot a Marlin Model 1893 (in cal. 38-55) built in July, 1900. Don't know that there are many of them around.

DIY .22lr backstop questions. Tips welcome!

My dad built an indoor trap for his .22 target pistol some 50-55 yrs ago. He used plywood to build the box and left one side open. Inside the box he affixed a piece of 1/4" steel diamond tread plate at a 45deg. angle with the near side at the top. Worked very well, and he could harvest the...

      Worst Fears/Phobias

Heights. Really affects me. Even seeing high places on TV makes my private parts rise up into my abdomen to hide. However, I can sometimes overcome. Climbed the Leaning Tower of Pisa once, though I stayed to the inside the whole time.

wow, new reason the 2nd A was created

Wow, talk about a hi-jacking. Went from a posting of a breathtakingly stupid version of history to a discussion of the relative values of public school vs. private/charter school education. Again, Wow.

Best Halloween prank you've seen or done

There was this bi-level house in our neighborhood and one Halloween the fella living there set a carved pumpkin on a stand next to his front door. He had installed a radio receiver and a speaker inside the pumpking and was watching out a window on the lowest level of the house. When he saw kids...
