      storage

I hope this is the right place for this. A few years ago I bought some small cardboard storage boxes for 9mm at a gun show in Indy. They are designed to hold 50 pcs without any kind of a tray, but the cartridges could stand upright inside. The ends folded over and tucked in 3 rows from each...

      Pretty cool girls...

Hope this is the right forum. Went to our Boy Scout camp in Muncie Friday to help with a ceremony for the youth leadership training held there last week. Had a chance to talk with the two female participants, both high school age. One was wearing a tee-shirt that said "Dwenger Rifle Team"...

      Gun maker stock

Read today that Ruger and S&W stock prices dipped a bit after the Sandy Hook thing, but rose again during Obummer's speech yesterday, finishing up about 6%. Hmmmm... And, Ruger's stock price has risen some 700% since Big O was inaugurated, and S&W over 300%. Some people are afeared of...

      bullet performance

Well, how do I say this? I want to see how my bullets perform, but don't want to go to the expense of buying ballistic gel or go to the trouble of making my own. Cost/reward is pretty small, IMO. (Lazy and cheap, you see.) Is there any other method I could use that is both easy and cheap...

      To The Range...

Great day at the range. Took my son and oldest grandson (14) and shot Marlin M1893 (38-55), Winchester M67 (.22), Remington New Army (.44), Griswold-Gunnison (.36), Colt SAA (.45Colt), Kel-Tec PF9, Glock 22 (.40S&W). Needless to say, a good time was had by all. My favorites are the Colt SAA and...

      Lead

Well, I got 65lbs of wheel weights from a local tire store, but about half of that seems to be aluminum. The manager suggested it might be that way... I've been scraping each weight with an awl to find the lead, but, is there a better way of culling the lead out of the bunch? Curious minds...

      Maryland and 2A

Is this the place for this? Hope it's not a dup. Anyway, a fed judge in Maryland ruled that the “good and substantial reason” to get a handgun permit clause in the state's carry law is unconstitutional. “A citizen may not be required to offer a `good and substantial reason’ why he should be...

      What is this?

In the boxes of shooting stuff my Dad gave me with my Marlin is a small jar of gun powder, probably 45-50 yrs old, or more. He hand-labeled it as "Hi-Vel #2". Anyone have any idea what this is, who made it, is it useable, comparable to...what, etc.?

      What are these lugs?

I have a Winchester Model 67 and it has two threaded lugs under the barrel. Presumably, they are for mounting stuff. What? I also have a copy of the 1934 Winchester catalog which has a picture of the Model 67. The picture does not show the lugs. The gun is a single shot bolt action .22cal. It...

      bullet question

What is an acceptable weight variance in lead bullets? I have found as much as 10% diff from hi to low in 9mm, .45, and .38-55 lead bullets (the .38-55 are hand cast, the others purchased). And, what to do if 10% is not acceptable?

Anybody see this about Rick Perry?

Recently Governor Perry allowed his Labrador Retriever to accompany him on his daily six mile jog. While on his run, he and his pet were accosted by a menacing coyote. After remaining still and waiting to see what the wild coyote would do, the governor pulled out a .380 Ruger and shot the...
