Normandy American Cemetery and Omaha Beach covered in snow.

A rare sight in Normandy as we rarely get snow. The Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, Normandy. The cemetery is located right next to Omaha Beach, just a few hundred yards from the beach, as you can see from the first picture.

Meeting WW2 veterans in Normandy, and US military vehicle exhibition.

Today I had the honor of meeting a group of WW2 veterans from Canada. They landed on the beaches of Normandy 75 years ago and today they were back in town to take part in different ceremonies in their honor. Most of them were only teenagers in 1942. Today I found some more bunkers to explore. Since they are partially buried they just look like small hills from a distance. You need to approach them from the right angle to be able to see the entrance. And even then it's often hidden by thick vegetation, bushes and trees. On top of that it was...

Discovering and visiting a WW2 bunker in Normandy, France.

Okay, so it all started as I was driving on the sea side along the coast of Normandy. I had to stop to take a picture of a bunker who, oddly enough, is halfway on he middle of the road.:dunno: As I am taking the picture I notice a grey spot (circled in red) maybe 50 yards behind the bunker...
